These are the ones I'd like to get for my lowered 03 Tahoe. I've read the 4600's are better for the lowered trucks and the 5100's are better for the lifted trucks. I have KYB Excels now, but I don't think they're capable enough for the rear of the truck.

Standard Bilsteins (if there is such a thing) have an internal bump stop. I don't recommend finding out that that's true, but it usually is. The yellow Bilsteins that are standard with the Z71 suspension will "probably work", but I'd contact Bilstein to be sure. What is "slightly lowered"? One inch would be okay in my opinion, two or more not so much.

My Bilstein knowledge comes from my BMW cars, some of which also had them as OEM.

I think I'd call Bilstein to find out if you'd be running the shocks into their internal bump stop. They could also suggest a custom valving job on their otherwise stock shocks, they will do that for you.

I put the 4600s on my Yukon and they were a direct replacement for what was already on there

People been running Bilstein 4600’s on our lowered SUV’s for quite awhile without issues. No internal bump stops and no custom valving needed.
