Again...same old question. Nivomats on my xl are done. Need to replace. Looking at heavy duty rear springs and heavy duty gabriel shocks front and back. Total in parts $250. Otherwise...its $$$$$$ for any nivomat style shock. Monroe Makes a nivomat replacement kit..2 springs and 2 shocks ($350) but think they may be too light duty. Any thoughts?

I can't assist you on this one, but other folks here may have suggestions. Nimovats are unique shocks, so it may be a bit of a challenge to replace all of their functionality, and some sacrifices will need to be made.
If you'd like to keep the self-adjusting Nivomat technology, ask @mountie for the name of a vendor that sells used ones.

Thks. Yeah..spoke to him. My yukon has 145k on it and nivomats have failed. He sells used shocks so dont really want to spend $$$ on something that may fail quickly. I assume some of his shocks may have even more miles on them than mine do. They were good while they lasted, but now i think a conventional approach might be best...but just looking to see what others have to say.
I put a solid 200+k on mine (abused well) and they never failed, I probably would have still had the originals but tried your approach and quickly decided to go back and had to buy new ones because the originals got tossed.
never really heard of any failing that I can remember, are they leaking?

The Nivomats he sent me were used but were nearly brand new.
I returned them due to my mistake, not knowing ( at the time ).. that a ZW7 code was just a part of my option.

Dont know about leaking, but the bounce is terrible. Ill get under it and look. I hooked up my casita trailer and drove over 400 miles this week. Hitch was about 9" from the ground and hitting any bump in the road caused a bang which i think was the bump stops. When i got home i un hitched the camper and the bottom of the hitch is now 13" high. Front fender is 33" high and rear is 34.5. Cant just be front shocks...could it??? Back of yukon was loaded pretty well but the nivomats should pump up to adjust? I assume you can use any decent shock on the front???

Looks like a seepage for a long time……. Nivomats do not have a “pump”……. They are self-leveling / self contained inside the shock.
After a few short miles they are supposed to return to a proper height.
if those did leak out anything it's all dried up now

I question the price for quality…….
Also, technically, “Nivomat” is the old name for these shocks. They are a SACHS manufacturer that will describe them as Nivomat due to the original description.
Those are air shocks -- notice the bladders -- not Nivomats, which are not Autoride.

Oh, yea… I had a bit of ‘dry eye’ this morning, and while watching the Olympics Hockey game , I missed the shock design.
I had a 2011 Yukon Denali with factory adjustable shocks driven by an air compressor. They leveled out quickly after loading them. Never had to replace the shocks, but the compressor ran out of breath at about 150,000 miles. My 48 years of experience tells me that if you begin experimenting with parts you will not be happy UNLESS you never like the ride in the first place. The wife (her car) was happy with the ride from the factory. So I stuck with what brung me there. By the way, her license plate is A QUEEN so you see what I am up against. Find the factory replacement and shop the part number.
