Wrecked Denali. Need parts advice

I have an '05 6.0L AWD Denali XL and I'm wondering if Yukon 1500 4wd parts are interchangeable. Specifically the front end suspension and drivetrain parts.

My wife hit a curb on the highway this morning doing 55mph and rolled it over on its side. She is fine but my truck is not. I'm on my way to look at it now and am worried about being about to fix it.

We don't have full coverage so I'm wondering what parts are/aren't the same as a 5.3 Yukon. If possible I'll do the mechanical repairs myself and let a ship do the body.

However Im pretty sure the front suspension and drive train are different from a 4wd to a Awd denali...

The torsion bars, Upper and lower control arms, and tie rods should be the same if not similar. but I know the front diff is different between the 2.

Rolled on its side doing 55?? Shes probably going to be totaled my friend. The body may be severely impacted. Sounds like if fixed properly, you're looking at way more than its worth. Might be better off writing this one off and finding another. Post pics if you can.

Thanks for moving the post and for the replies. I'm really stressed.

Suspension and drivetrain seem fine. Rims and tires are okay so there couldn't have been too hard of an impact with curb.

Ball park estimate for total repair, with used parts where possible, could be as much as
$10,000-$12,500($5000 labor)

The high end is assuming the worst of things and that $700 the instrument panel is broken.
I think there is plenty to be saved on some of the parts needed. Parts include: repair the front bumper and hood, replace the rest; grill, headlight & housing, turn signal, fender, dash pieces, instrument panel, 2 used doors or shells, hinges, windshield, driver's glass, driver's mirror, rear quarter panel. He said there was a bad rim also but I haven't seen it. Also the frame for the driver door would need to be reworked.

Transmission fluid and oil levels were normal. It started but coughed thick smoke so hopefully that'll burn off.

To get it driveable, with a driver's door, and door frame reworked, I was quoted maybe $2500-$3000. Then I could work on the rest when I have money. I'm not sure if that includes windshield.

Initially when I saw it I was very optimistic but he called back to give me the bad news. I'm going back to tomorrow to talk about my options; which are make it driveable ASAP for as little as possible, or drop it off at my house and buy something different for $3000-$4000. I could try to fix it later or part it out.

And I was so flustered I forgot to take pics but I'll get some in the morning.

Also I don't think I mentioned that it only has 90,000 miles and is the only thing that will hold all of our dogs when we need to go out of town. So eventually we will need something just as big and reliable.

dude, from your description, salvage what you can to part out. cut your losses. the door frame is the real killer. for $12k of fixing it, plus what you get for parting it out, its replaceable.

Part it out.
Engine and drive train will net ya close to 3k
its 6.0 not a 5.7.
Can easily get 1500 or more for that engine if its in good shape.

Sounds like the cheap way out. Don't fix it. Flush that turd. You'll never get your money back out of it, and if it needs a uniside which I'm sure it does if it needs hinges, and if the dash is cracked to hell, there's a very good chance of the A Pillar being tweaked. You'll have air leaks galore and grow a migraine trying to track them down. Trust me. I do collision repair for a living and have for many years. Cut your losses, and don't fix it.

I'm on my way back now to see my truck and will get pics and more explanation.

They said it would probably be closer to $10k total but I can really only afford to have them fix the door and windshield then I can get the headlight and mirror. The rest of the repairs would have to be done over the next 6mos. I haven't really considered cutting my losses on it. Maybe I'm too attached but I'm the only owner, with perfect maintenance for 90k miles. I feel like if I can get the door right then it would be worth it.

Please stop trying to repair that!!

It'll give you more stress and take away money faster than you would imagine. Its parts value alone, if you sold 90% of it, would easily cover the price on a nice used ride. There are plenty of people on here that would love to have some parts. We even have a "For Sale" section to help you out.

Dude... even if you do get it all fixed it won't drive the same. So many squeaks/random noises it'll bother the piss out of you. I recently hit a deer in my 07 avalanche that was in MINT condition inside and out and it sounded/drove like shit after it was fixed... $7k in damages and it didn't even roll like yours did. Just cut your losses and sell it as-is and buy another vehicle

He said the A-pillar didn't seem too bad but he also stressed the fact that I was the only owner so I new there wasn't anything else wrong with it(seems like a sale pitch).
