With or without dvd players

Got a Pioneer avh p 3100dvd in the truck. Planning to install monitors in the headrests. Suggestions please, should I get just monitors or ones with separate dvd players. Another question, did anyone successfully install headrest monitors in the 2nd row?

Why not go for DVD players with A/V input and get the best of both worlds? Just go from output in 3100 to a splitter and split one to the left and one to the right. Surely there is something like that out there.
