will trans work with stock harness and carb?

i have a 96 2 door tahoe. new engine installed. .040 bore 3.75 crank heads port and polish. 385 stroker engine. i want to carburate it but im not sure if i need to add a tci controller or do i need to change the trans...also will it just work if i leave stock harness on the trans? plz help!

The trans needs throttle position sensor input for shift firmness ... either get a stand alone controller or make TPS work on your carb. :D

thanks! ok so i plan on using an edelbrock air gap and a demon 700 cfm double pumper. how would i make a tps work with that carb? and basically that replaces the old school kick down cable right?

Yeah basically, that would replace the kick down cable ... in a sense. Making that TPS work with a carb isn't gonna be easy. You would have to be pretty creative.
