Man, this is such an awesome build. This gives me so much hope for my Suburban. I have always wanted to a Supercharged vehicle of some sort since I was in my 30’s. I just turned 60 on Monday. Now I really want to do something like this with mine. I kinda liked the Magnuson and the Edelbrock Superchaargers for their clean look and their internal plenum.
I highly recommend it, when funds are available to you.

Do it! Just know it won't be cheap -- even if you do the majority of the work yourself. I would ask that you open a build thread when you start your build, though. :)

I've seen your replies to some older threads regarding front spring replacements and going with moog. I'm in the same boat with the avalanche. Do you still like them? Have they settled any? Do you have mag ride or auto ride? I'd much prefer an oem spring, but they aren't available.

The Moog spring are holding up fine. I have no complaints about them at all.

I have the Z55, Electronic Suspension (not the Z95 Magneride Suspension), and really, the only difference between the two is that the Z55 suspension takes 20 milliseconds to make a stiffness adjustment, and the Magneride Suspension takes only 4 milliseconds to make a stiffness adjustment.

Thank you. I'm not well versed in this department and the amount of part numbers and misinformation out there is mind boggling. The avalanche has 285k on the stock springs, and after reading on here, it seems best to replace the springs when you do the shocks.

That is a sick build! I love that you pulled the cab and did it the correct way! Also I like your exhaust set up, what muffler is in there? How much did the tunning cost for something like this? I have been around tunning of european cars so I have no idea how expensive or inexpensive it is to have a custom tune for your vehicle.

I enjoyed reading the thread!

Thank you for your kind words. I waited 55 years to be able to achieve this setup.

The exhaust system is a Gibson Extreme cat-back stainless steel dual exhaust system with a 3.5" pipe to the muffler, and 3" pipes to the tail pipe tips, and 5" tail pipe tips. It was designed to be loud, and have the drag strip motor howl at WOT, and it does. For most folks, it would be too loud, but I live in a rural setting, so there is nobody to annoy around my property.

The Whipple supercharger package came with a premade Whipple tune, and an HPTuners device to install it. I had a new transmission installed as part of the project, and it came with a standard GM tune. I already had a BlackBear Performance tuning license for this truck (originally cost $650 for the AutoCal tune installation device and custom tunes for both the motor and the transmission, based on a 20 minute data collection routine that I performed and sent to BBP for analysis), and since I was an existing licensed customer already with an AutoCal device, I performed another 20 minute data collection routine, sent it to BBP for analysis, and they sent me the new BBP tune modifications for both the Whipple supercharged motor and the GM transmission at a cost of $165.

How do you like the Gibson exhaust? Do you think it flows better than factory (at low RPM) if you're able to comment to that. Also are you using the dual inlet muffler?

I see you dug into your suspension. Just incase you're needing ball joints and rod ends... I've been running Mevotech TTX joints. WOW are they good. I blew through MOOG stuff off-road. The TTX parts have held up for over 50k miles now with lots of abuse. I got ~10k miles out of the other parts.

Were the Moog parts the 1st quality K Series Moog or the Chinese low cost Moog RK series parts? They sell both. Many today buy on price only.

I love this exhaust, but in full transparency, it is loud, most likely too loud for most folks. It is reportedly 8 db louder than stock. I'm a bit unusual, perhaps, because I'm old, retired, and don't give a F*** about what people think of my truck's exhaust noise level.

The stock exhaust system on my truck was more than adequate for the stock 6.2L motor (in fact, I was told that it is good up to 500 hp), so when I added the Gibson exhaust system to it, I noticed no difference in 'flow/performance'. Since the Gibson exhaust system was already installed before supercharging the motor, I can't tell you if it made a difference.

There is single 3.5" pipe input going into the muffler, and two 3" pipes exiting the muffler, and out two 5" pipe tips.

I replaced virtually my entire suspension on the truck a few years ago, so I don't think that I'll be replacing any more suspension components before I retire the truck (or myself).

I have not bought based on price for over half a century. To my knowledge, my Moog springs are 1st quality, originally from RockAuto.com.

Joe would never knowingly buy Moog RK series parts!

CK springs at the time and may be now, the same, exact same, as ACDelco Gold/Professional.

Wow, that's a big exhaust, did you have to replace the cat side too? Interested if 3.5" is factory fitment.

The MOOG ball joints will work fine if you spend most of your time on roads. I'm off-road which they didn't hold up to.

This exhaust system bolted directly up to the single 'Y' point after both cats. The 3.5" pipe before the muffler is the same diameter as stock.

I used all GM OEM parts for my suspension replacements, except for the Moog front strut springs, as GM had discontinued selling those springs.

What did you end up using? I have Kryptonite on my 2500HD.
