where should i start with my yukon

I'm curious what I could get for $9k...a completely new drop in place engine?

No not a new engine.

Honestly, lets get your realistic goals/expectations on the table and your end budget. You could put a blower on there but it would cost more than $3300.

To be honest, just get cams, headers, intake, exhaust. That'll be close to $3000 and get you setup in the right direction. Don't buy the "cheap stuff" because it costs less. There's probably a reason it's cheap. Look up online reviews before you buy something.

should have bought the denali if OP was looking for more power.

these things weigh alot and they are not setup for speed.

but i guess a k & n, exhaust and other light mods will give you very modest gains.

Stay away from K&N... those filters are garbage
