When Do the Puddle Lights Actually Come On ???

I have a 2014 and now a 2013 Denali.. I don't know how to / When to check the puddle
lights in the bottom of the outside mirrors... I don't think I've ever seen them come on..
And haven't figured how to 'force' them on...
Help TIA

I had to replace the mirror motor on the 2013 and couldn't figure out
how to turn that bulb on for testing.. I replaced it anyway.. but then didn't figure
how to turn it on

Might be a setting in the DIC also but i have never bothered to look. Maybe i should.

On the older trucks, us 800s. There was or is a setting in the cluster as exit lights or curb light. Would think it's the same. Could be wrong.

Found It ! As SpareParts said, When I unlock with the remote they come on
All are working on Both Yukons !!!!!!!!!

Both My Yukons are Twins ! Just like yours.... I couldn't pass up a 2 owner 2013 denali in the white diamond
just like my 2014. Picked it up about 2 weeks ago. !! Getting the little stuff fixed and maint all done
It was really well taken care of - I know the guy I bought it from. He offered me first dibs

normal operation is when you use the oem fob and it is after dusk, to test in daytime just cover the sun sensor on the dash with a shirt or anything to block out the daylight.

I have a aftermarket alarm & fob so I wired mine to the interior lights, so they come on whenever the dome lights do, opening a door, unlocking it, etc
if my alarm is triggered the interior lights flash and now so do the puddle lights.

My thought was "After you step in puddle".

You need to adjust them to come on quicker, to show you the puddle BEFORE you step in it.

Seriously, I've been waiting for someone to post that the puddle lights come on when the door is opened. Seems logical to me.
