Whatcha think about the CK158?

A guy near me has a set of these and he wants to trade for some 20s. He offered his wheels for my LTZs and $650. He says his are in perfect condition (I hope they're just dirty in his pic) and the tires are nearly new. I haven't gotten the model or size of the tires yet, all I know is they're Nankang as seen from his pic. Mine have maybe 15K left on the tires, so I'd be needing tires soon anyway and I don't want to invest in the 20s when I want and could have 22s. I haven't been able to find any pics of these wheels on a NNBS Tahoe, but I keep picturing them as looking ok on mine, at least better than my stock stuff. Your thoughts?

Wellll... I already have a nearly-new (12K miles from 2017 Silverado) set of 275/55 Wranglers for the 20s. They were a $300 Craigslist deal. I could resell them and get my money back or a little more if I do the trade, then I'd have about $350 invested in the upgrade.

The problem is that the tires are 305/45-22 which is almost an inch taller than the stock tire diameter. Might not look too bad as-is, but I plan on a 3"-4" drop so clearance will be a problem. Also, I couldn't find any real credible reviews on this tire. It would probably be okay for me, but that big sidewall tho....

Yeah. One of the pics he sent shows his air dam is cut like he trimmed it for clearance and just wants to get rid of the whole setup now because they're too big. They don't look BAD in his pics, but I'll have to look at them in person and I'm still interested in doing so. I'm not gonna drop it until after next year when we get another car, so the bigger tires may not be an issue for a while. I could get smaller tires then. Maybe for now I should just look at it as getting the 22" wheels in a ready-to-roll package?

I know its not what you're asking for but here are 158s on my 2016. Got them from a guy with a GMC who was going larger. 650 is a deal in my book!

Thanks for the pic, Cody! I really think I'll like them on my '08. It's one of those things where I think I like them then I look at them for so long that I second-guess myself. So I walk away for a while then come back and look at more pics and the cycle continues. They don't seem to be very popular, at least not as popular as the other OEM 22s. I'll look at this as a good thing. I see a split 7-spoke version that I like more, but this split 6-spoke will look fine on my particular vintage of Tahoe.

I haven't heard back from the guy yet, but I still wanna see them in person. The "gigantic" tires may not look so bad and may be completely tolerable for a while.

So, I go to Walmart today and a Denali backs in two spaces down with these exact wheels. I waited until the smokin hot MILF was away so she wouldn't think I was sneaking a pic of her deliciously juicy, yoga pants-covered hams:

Then, it turned out that the guy with the wheels for sale/trade was right across the street, so I went to check them out:

He as spacers on them. That's why the back ones are sticking out and why he had to trim the air dam up front.

I measured the OD horizontally as accurately as I could and came up with 32.75". My current wheel and tire OD is 31.75".

I'm torn- there's a guy near me with some aftermarket CK375s that I can get for probably $650ish but they need tires. I can buy them and hold on to them until I can get new tires in the size I want (285/45). Or, I can get these CK158s for my stock wheels and worn tires plus $650 and roll them as-is. I'll need to downsize the tires when I go to drop the Tahoe.

I could sell the like-new 20" Wranglers to recoup 3-400. Either way I cut it, I'm investing about the same in the end. It comes down to the timing and what wheels I'll end up with.

I already know I like the 375s on my Tahoe- there are plenty of pics of them, with the drop I want and with the same body color. I'm THINKING I'll like the 158s but I really want to compare them against the body lines, headlights, you know... Plus, they're nowhere nearly as common (read: "played out") as the 375s.
