seriously guys cmon Royal purple shit even there oil filters are no ******** hands down better then every other manufacturer

Not to start a brand or synthetic vs conventional war, but what makes you say its the best? Royal Purple products are a bit harder to come by around here, but I have never heard anything negative regarding them.

Mobil 1, amsoil, & royal purple are probably the best imo. Not sure where uou get your info from bud but you also say a cai is completely useless. What makes you think we are gonna believe this statement....

I would prefer to use Amsoil but it is pretty difficult to come buy unless you order it online. However Mobil 1 and Royal Purple can be found most places, I know Wal-Mart carries both here.

sorry im not trying to be a smart ass or start a pissing contest but i dont like being accused bullshitting or blowing smoke
any statement i make is based on fact or what i beleive to be fact
the comment i made about the oil i was kinda goofing off but as far as cold air intakes thats based on fact what eve seen with my own two eyes information straight off Dynamometer infact we spent a whole day in class back when i was in school testing a bunch of different configurations with a handfull of name brand CAI and when we put them on a generally stock engine we got no hp increase sometimes less hp now im not denying it improves performance on a tuned and modified engnine i know they do but most people are duped into believing that 300 dollar k&n filter they just put on there truck has some dramatic performance increases and better mpg when in fact it does nothing

theyve even proven in some cases a leaf blower gives you more HP then a CAI

Depending on what part of Alabama your from there is a guy at the local Flea Market that is a Amsoil dealer. (Fully wrapped truck/trailer combo (so I'm sure he's legit)) and I get my Royal Purple at O'Rileys.

I use the cheapest oil. I believe staying on top of the oil changes (especially in axles, transmissions and transfer cases) is more important than brand. I'll even run cheap Valvoline or AutoZone brand in the BMW which "requires" expensive synthetic.

I've never had anything fail or have any damage. I've seen others have failures due to neglect; not the label on their oil.

may not have failed yet but oils that don't meet the classifications that the engine requires will suffer over time as well as cheap oils don't always have goods additives added like detergents. using oil that does not comply is neglect.

I have a 2011 Yukon Denali with the 6.2 in it. I purchased 5/30 amsoil to put in it but realized that amsoil is not Dexos approved. I have done research and read that amsoil exceeds Dexos 1 and amsoil claims it is jus a licensing thing and they do not chose to put the Dexos approved logo on there jugs. Jus wondering if something ever did happen with the motor and was a oil issue would Gm warranty it if amsoil does not have the approved label. Does anyone run Amsoil, I see a lot of people are running Mobil.

I tested it

^same engine oil changed every 5-6k not sure on gear oil.

Why do you change it so often, it can run for 15K without breaking down that's the plus about Mobil 1 5W-30. I test oil for a Cargill Facility and I decided to check the viscosity and the break down wear of my Oil at 10K miles using the CSI 1500 oil analyzer and there was no change in the oil which means you could put the 10K oil back in the bottle and sell for new. For the price of it you could save a lot of money running that extra 6K miles

No change at all. Sorry I need documentation before I would believe that. As for the early changers some people are just misinformed about improvements in chemical advancements, engine system improvements or have a mindset that they will not break.

Absolutely no way I'd run 15k miles between oil changes lol

I used Valvoline Max Life Synthetic blend 10w-30 on my 98 and my 07

Anyone know how accurate the "Oil Life percentage" in the gmt900's is, I run RP and change it every 10k (6200 miles). Just curious if anyone goes by that.
