Has anyone looked into replacing your side mirror glass? I can get a set heated with turn signal for $60 or I can get the drivers side with same AND autodimming for $330
I want to keep the autodimming feature but good god
Are you talking oem or aftermarket? Just the glass itself for $60? I've gotten oem replacements from the jy for good prices. I added the DL3 mirrors with dimming and turn signals.

Just the glass, aftermarket for $60 but OEM for the $330 with autodiming because I can't find aftermarket with autodim. Yeah junkyard for the glass with aurodim is around $170 and if I won't pay that for 20 YO glass that is ready to go bad anytime.

Aftermarket glass is hit or miss. Sometimes they wobble at speed.

I replaced the passenger side air bag sensor about 4 years ago with a JY one since dorman wasn't cheap even then, now dorman doesn't make them anymore, Advance had one from somebody for $425 but I didn't look any further to see if that was real so I got another JY one.

Moved to Missouri from Florida and the stupid inspection here made me change the bushing in my suspension which weren’t really bad, so I just replaced the front end with new parts. I’m saving the OEM arms for when I lower it since they’re better quality than the replacements.

Wow, that seems like too much inspection !!! Did they notice cracks in the rubber ???? Any old rubber is going to have superficial cracks after all these years !!!

I just came across this how-to on adding foot well lighting. I guess I never realized this was a 00-02 thing?

I think I'll give it a shot on my 06 Suburban...seems pretty easy. I also would like to add the rear door panel lights. Mine are just reflectors there. :-(

R&R drivers side mirror, couldn't find a new on selling with the auto-dim feature, other than that it looks good to me and has all the other features. I am glad I didnt buy a used one from ebay because if I hold my old mirror right it looks just fine and I could sell for $150 like everyone else but if you have it in your hands and change the angles you can see how it is foggy from age.

Anyone with a good conscious wouldn't sell that mirror without letting someone know. Now giving it away free to someone who needs it :happy107:

Doing it myself, several videos out there so it seems not too bad.
Plus the seatshop seems to be the best quality out there and of course the most expensive

I did mine with new foam, heater, and cover from The Seat Shop. Definitely great materials and guidance! When it came to stretching the cover over the seat I had to have my son help by standing on the upside-down seat bottom to get the foam to squish enough to roll the plastic retainer over the sharp edge of the frame. Be careful with that sharp metal!

You could also use steam to stretch the vinyl and or leather. Much more pliable using steam.

Painted my rear seat with SEM looks 100% better now have to do the other side.
Why did I paint my seats you might ask, well that's a long story.

When I got the truck the drivers bottom was ripped and the passenger bottom was close to it. I knew a detail/paint correction, kinda do it all guy who said he could fix the seats - yeah this is where it all went wrong.

So I go to pick it up and he replaced the drivers cover and used basically a type of bondo for leather on the passengers seat, the kicker was he says you can't get the original color int dye so he had to "custom" mix some dye....
So the color was close but has too much blue in it and now if I change any part the color won't match hence why I am painting the rear because yes he painted the rear to match the front. Plus I am sure he used paint which is why the drivers seat didn't last a year before cracking and the top cover is cracking as well.
So when I redo the leather on the front I will also need to fix all the overspray on the plastic molding pieces as well.
