Transmission went clunk today. Lost 4th gear and reverse. 1st sounds like it is grinding metal. 3rd was ok and I made it home.

Time for a new trans. There is a used one in a parts car I can grab for free and pray it has plenty of life left in it, or I can get a remanufactured one.

Came across this on google: https://www.bestbuytransmission.com/4l60e-transmission
5 year warranty seems fairly good. Anyone have experience with these guys?
Never heard of them but that seems like a good price considering the warranty.

How about this for a simple thread. I know a lot of us do simple stuff to our trucks everyday and we don't make a new thread for everything we do. So if you did something neat, simple, or just want to brag about a new cool piece you threw on your ride post it up. I figure this thread will also bring inspiration to others as well.

I'll start.....

Today I did some spring cleaning to the my '01 Tahoe. I washed it and cleaned out the inside. I also ordered some new JL audio speakers for the doors and front and rear Weathertech floor mats. I also put some sound deadening material in the doors.

Jack your post count up, and post away.

you need to set up your account on hptuners web site/forum, then have the interface plugged into the laptop enter the number into the interface and sync it up. need to be connected to the web. if the number still wont take, try all caps for the letters or all lower case, try with spaces and no dashes and with only dashes.

The MPVI2+ is sync'd, updated and showing up in my account with the proper S/N.

Just isn't showing the credits I purchases with it.

That's what I purchased, and going back and looking at my orders, if I choose the MPVI2+ with zero credits, Amazon tells me I purchased another variation 4 days ago, and specifically says the one with 2 credits.

It's not likely a yuge deal, it'll just be Monday before someone is in the office to correct the mistake. Just annoying, not Earth-shattering.

I am confused by your post... The photo is all we have to go on. Are you saying you converted a RWD to 4WD?

I’m guessing he converted a 4WD to 2 WD and put a pocket in place of the switches.
Yeah. With just the photo to go by, there was some room for interpretation on what was going on there. Could be taking the 4WD out or could be putting it in. You are probably right, since taking it out is much easier than putting 4WD in.

I would love to be able to convert my 2WD to 4WD. I am sure that is a massive undertaking, though. <sigh>

in the box should be a application key. you need to type that into the hpt program.

Application keys are used only by Legacy MPVI devices, not MPVI2 devices.

MPVI2+ uses a Verification Code, which can only be obtained through the software once the device has connected. This verification code is required in order to complete the registration process and for your device to show up under your account.

Here is what it says on the website:

To activate Universal Credits for your MPVI2+

  1. Download and install the latest version of VCM Suite here.
  2. Connect your MPVI2+ to your laptop/PC.
  3. While connected to the internet, load VCM Editor and select HELP, then RESYNC INTERFACE.
I have done this.

In the VCM Scanner itself, it says this when you click "Resync Interface".

Same thing in both VCM Scanner and VCM Editor. As you can see - it is sync'd and updated.

But I still get this:

Obviously, I think I've gone as far as I can go with registering/updating. I have contacted HP Tuners to see if there is some path forward to claim my two pre-purchased credits.

BTW, the receipt I got with the device, does show 2 purchased credits. Also, in the instructions, a note at the end of the process says:

If your device does not show the purchased credits or PRO license after the "Resync", please contact us by messaging through the marketplace (ex, Amazon or eBay) or 205-909-9402.

So I would guess this has happened before.

He posted something similar in another thread. Apparently removed the Auto transfer case and put a manual one in its place, with what looks like a hammer head and handle for the lever, right where it would get in the way of a leg. Just guessing, though.

Looks like he cut the lower ds of the center console for access too.

$400 would be better, but $500 isn't terrible if it's all oem in good shape. Have any pics of it?
$300 would be even better lol. My coworker is trying to convince me to spend a few hundred extra and just buy it all new. Now he’s got me second guessing going to get it. 5hr round trip. Around $80 in fuel also ‍♂️

You won’t get new oem though. For one thing you can’t even buy a new OEM hd hood. Period. Aftermarket only.
Not sure about the grill but I’d be willing to bet a new OEM grill would be $250 at least.

Exactly. Hood is aftermarket only at this point and I’m finding $500 shipped for that, and grills I’m finding for $175-230 shipped. Then bumper cap $120-135. So around $8-900. So for about $300 extra it would all be new but not oem on the hood……. I think I just convinced myself lol
