After taking my Yukon home from the dealer at 12:30 I waisted no time doing a few things. Put Weathertech mats in then applied Laminx film to the side markers to tint them and get rid of the bright orange

has anyone managed to solve the issue with doors slamming like a pissed off spouse? All 4 of my doors close super hard. I know they aren't the soft close like on a caddy but are there any bumpers or something that can dampen the sound?

Interesting, mine don’t require much force to close. Just a gentle thud. I intentionally try to not slam them, just a gentle close.

Maybe don’t piss off the spouse and see if that helps!

Even though I used matte black to remove the front/rear red on the emblems...that chrome trim was killing me. Like $70 for the front/rear...proper fit/look now.

Put my new wheels and tires on today. Wheels are Status Venti 22x9.5 with +25 offset. Tires are 285/50/22 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I'm very happy with this setup so far. No issues at all with the fitment and no rubbing yet. The rear of the tire is pretty close to the wheel well liner at full lock so we'll see if it rubs when going over a bump. If it does tucking the liner back will solve it.

I really dislike rubber mats, and regular ones are very short for our climate. Therefore, for all cars for 15 years now we have been sewing textile rugs to order. They are sewn individually for a specific car. absorb moisture, while having a rubber layer that does not let moisture down.

Wait..... So you're making your own?!? That's fantastic, these look great. Kudos to you, as you even get to pick your own specific colors.
Yes, these mats are sewn by the atelier for a specific car. It all takes 1.5-2 hours, you can choose the color of the carpet, and the color of the edging. Well, it costs less than the rugs that the authorized dealer sells. In particular, on my Yukon, for three rows of seats, the aisle between the second row and the trunk cost $ 300

I recently tinted my tailights. I used Lamin-X's precut kit. Their website says that due to the complex curvature it is a two piece kit with a seam at the corner. It's less of a seam and more of a finger width gap. I played around with it for a little bit to try and see if I was missing something but I don't think there was a way to get it to all line up perfectly without leaving a gap somewhere. The gap new the two pieces isn't that noticeable unless you're looking at it up close. But I'm going to contact the company to see if they have a suggestion or just get a couple more pieces and redo the rear facing surface.

Other than the gap I'm happy with how it turned out. I went with Gunsmoke which is the 2nd lightest shade.

Also today I started tackling the chrome. Its my first time doing any wrapping so I started with the chrome strip on the rear bumper. It turned out alright but I'm going to have to do attempt 3 as cutting the vinyl went a little off in a few spots so some chrome is visible up close.

I didn't quite get pulled over today, but I did get a verbal warning from a lone cop about my wide tires. It was one of those scenarios where a cop was driving amongst traffic on the road, and no one wanted to speed past him, even if he was going 10 miles less than the posted speed limit.

This typically doesn't sway me, so I drove past him. By this time he's several cards behind me in the next lane. When conditions were right, he creeped up on me side-by-side to compliment my Yukon. But then in the same breath, he also gave me a verbal warning regarding my extra wide tires. He told me that I needed mud flaps to protect everyone else out there from getting rock chips from my driving.
