@nytahoe, just a guess, but you like chrome rims? Ballin'

Guys, quick question....what do you think about this deal:

$250 chrome set of Esky rims that are not in good cosmetic shape but are straight and would be powder coated?

I figure $400 total to get them powder coated black plus approx. $225 a tire mounted and installed puts me at around $1550 total which seems like a decent deal. Plus TPMS I guess. That math seem about right?

I just bought 22s and will be putting them before the end of the week. Switching from the factory 20s on a Denali. I imagine that the ride will not be too compromised as the factory does offer 22s as well, as felixgun stated.

20s started to look a bit too small after browsing this forum for a couple of weeks...

You won't be disappointed. :Handshake:

If I was a blind man and someone switched my rims from factory 20's to factory 22's, I would never know.

I runs 20's with no shame. Do I wish I bought 22's? Sometimes .....yes.

Do it! :mexsmoke:

250 is dirt cheap. But don't you have to get the chrome sandblasted off BEFORE you powder coat? I'm pretty sure that isn't cheap either... just food for thought. It might still be worthwhile since the rims themselves are dirt cheap.

Hopefully as a blind man you wouldn't be driving but hey it's your life.

I will keep my 20's for now. LOL.

Actually had I had 22's......... I KNOW for a FACT, I would have ruined one by now........

I hit a curb at the CLT Airport. :emotions122:

Looking at the marks on the tire afterwards I could see where the rim would be if it was a 22.

Along the lines of the blind comment, if I squint they look like 22's in this picture. :lol2:

Black 22's look like 20's......especially with a lip.

Soild black needs 24's IMHO on a NNBS.

24's look SO good, but from the sounds of it, doing it correctly is such a big investment with having to do a BBK and all to make up for the added weight. Plus I hear the ride quality significantly decreases and then there's the rubbing. So many negatives just for looks :(

My only experience with Oversized rims was with the 22's we had on our Chrysler 300 (traded it in for the Hoe) and even with the Bosch brakes, the lack of stopping power was scary.

Your 20's look bigger than most Lee. Very nice. Good choice of rims...Those are AMP rims?

Thank you MACHO.........

Yes, I was on the fence about wheel size too. I am glad I did 20's overall. If I was doing a black wheel, I would Definitively do a 22.

24's are too impractical in daily situations. You basically have a car tire on a truck with no sidewall. Wheels are really heavy, putting stress on ball joints, tie rods, hub bearings, etc. The brakes fade fast, ride suffers...........list goes on. Looks Darn good though.

My wheels are American Racing AR840's. They are not chrome, but Bright PVD.

I wanted a LIP, but since wheels with a lip look smaller......... and wheels with spokes to the edge tend to look bigger........

I went with this design because this one had BOTH.

Also, it is one of the LIGHTEST wheels I found. My 20's are 31 pounds. I know cause I showed up with a scale on install day.

Another great option is the KMC D2 In Black. 22 inches. A light wheel at 36 pounds or so.... Keep in mind stock LTZ's are 37 pounds for 20's. I think it is a great looking wheel, that has not been done by everyone like the Slides.

Ah yes the AR's. again, great looking rim.

I agree, I like the spokes that go to the edge of the rim bc of the larger look. That's why I love the TBSS.

Thanks bro you are the man. Those d2's look so nice! If they weren't so much I'd prob pull the trigger on them.

@Chevyboy, what do you think of them??? Here's a photo:

I would say D2's in black or TBSS in Grey........

Also, there is always a buyer it seems for the TBSS if you want to sell later, and easy to find a replacement if you ruin one.
