I think I’m just gonna leave it alone until this coming Thursday when I can get a new unit. Then we’ll see if it fixes the issue.

So do y’all think the wiring under the cup holder compartment in the center consul, or the wiring under the seat, or the wiring under the trim on the sides would have anything to do with the radio? because if water touched anything it was one of those three spots.

That’s why I’m nervous to just throw a new expensive touchscreen radio on it because what if I have the same issues with the accent lighting on that one?

I'm curious, do your other dash/cluster lights dim and brighten with the dimmer on or near the headlight switch? (I'm not all that familiar with the newer dashes, but it seems that the dimmer would also control the radio switch lights.)

The dimmer switch he’s talking about is explained in your owners manual.

Another update: doesn’t seem to take any power from the battery. I compared the voltage on crank over the course of 6 hours twice, one with the radio fuse and one without. Don’t notice any major difference

I took the fuse out and then put it back i, turned it over on accessory a few times and it stopped doing it, the lights would shut off when I opened the door. And then I turned the car all the way on, and drove home and it did it again when I shut the car off. So that tells me it only stops doing it when I take the fuse out and put it back in and then don’t start the car.

I truly believe, I take that back. I truly am guessing that if you find the fuse/relay box that controls all these, I bet it is the same box, and remove all fuses and relays and inspect and clean as needed and remove the box from it's mount and inspect/clean the back, you can repair your problem. Different items are getting power when not needed and vice versa.

I had a Chevy pickup once that would not allow engine to shut off unless you turned off headlights. The back of fuse box was cruddy and like crud on top of a battery, was allowing voltage to travel.

I’ll be you tubing how to clean a fuse box tomorrow then…. We will see if that works.
