Hi there,
as mentioned before, here is my first impression of VXDIAG.
Box came with the OBD interface, USB cable and install CD.
It is a China clone, paid about 80 USD for it.
Reason to prefer the VXDIAG to the Tech2 is, that I have a workshop PC, where I run all my things on (workshop manuals, Excel spread sheets for my tuning and service data, other OBD tools from Peugeot...) and the VXDIAG is suppose to run newer vehicles as well.
Install was done within 10min, no need to refer to the manual, no need for complex patches / cracks.
Straigth forward
The Tech2 seems to be an Tech2 SW emulator, since I never used a Tech2 HW...I can only guess, see for yourself:
Not sure what I can do with it, since I am still waiting for my Tahoe, thus I could do a dry run only.
It has several diagnostic features
Not yet tested them.
Supposetly one should be able to do ECU programming as well.....
There is a complete Win virtual machine on it, called VMwareplayer to run GDS2. Not sure at this point what GDS2 is suppose to do.....
Another SW I do not know what is does is the GM MDI manager.
As soon as I have my Tahoe I'll give it a run, do a write up and post some more pics.
BTW, everything ran smoothly, even for a computer illiterte as myself, plug and play. Recognised the USB device instantly. Could not test the WiFi feature, since I miss a powered OBD port ;-)
