Any updates?

Weather and lack of time between the both of us slowed down the progress. New lifters have been soaking in oil, the pushrods/keepers/rockers/bolts are being cleaned, oil pump with cleaned, oil pan cleaned inside and out, new oil pan seal, reinstalled, transmission serviced with new fluid/filter/seal, intake and coolant ports cleaned out of shizzy-ass DexCool, now it’s getting ready to flush the block of antifreeze/corrosion, and old oil. Prepping the valve covers for new paint. Anything I’m missing @Eds_Auto ?

So, not sure how this happened, but got some new ones soaking.

Now, what you wanna do is simmer your lifters until the bubbles stop, that's how you know they are done.

US old schoolers had to use the quart cans BEFORE plastic, which allowed the lifters to be upright.

Nope, sounds like where we are right now. Been a busy few days, I wish I had more time to spend on it. Just need to get an intake gasket set and put it back together. As soon as that's done, it will FINALLY be time to mount that hoe.

In other news, if someone just so happen to have a hydraulic leveling unit from an RV, what would they be able to do with it in a project like this? Asking for a friend.

Nope, sounds like where we are right now. Been a busy few days, I wish I had more time to spend on it. Just need to get an intake gasket set and put it back together. As soon as that's done, it will FINALLY be time to mount that hoe.

In other news, if someone just so happen to have a hydraulic leveling unit from an RV, what would they be able to do with it in a project like this? Asking for a friend.

Update:

Upper and lower intake gaskets ordered from RockAuto. They are on wholesale clearance right now (for anyone that needs them for a 454 haha), so go grab em! Only paid $25. Both of us will be busy all the way through the weekend, so the ** will get attention next week.

No 4x4 for right now! It requires taking apart the transmission. Need to get her on the road, so it will get converted over to 4x4 in the near future.

I pulled a brake pedal assembly out of a 2000 Chevy 3500 with a 454. Can’t tell if it’s hydroboost or not, since the pedals look very similar. None of the 2500/3500 trucks had any identifiable marks to say they were hydroboost, so let’s hope!

Side note: found a fully complete 1998/1999 dash (tan), with no cracks! Didn’t have time to pull it though

I was looking but couldn’t find one. I’ll clean it up a little more and look closer
