Well, I’m not sure what the hell the issue is then because both places I went to I made it very clear that I would like a vehicle inspection before I take a trip. What else is there to miss. I was pretty straightforward. Starting to get a little irritated with these places. Am I good or not? How many mechanics does it take to freaking diagnose a squeaking noise?

well if it is the brakes wearing down, then it will just squeak more then eventually grind (this usually takes a number of miles)
if it is a wheel bearing it may get louder and louder or progress into a grinding noise
either way it will let you know and unless you have a discount option with a local shop then repairs on the road would be same anyway
so send-it.....

Almost to Sioux Falls. So far so good. She gets a bit curvy at 80. It is windy and there is like grooves in the road. Any Tahoe like mine kinda shakes above 75. Of our shop ones do

Made it to the hotel. Wheel hubs in the rear were a little warm to touch. Like not hot. Just like warm from the trip I’m guessing. Wheels them self weren’t warm either. It was just kinda shaky above 80 mph. Barely. Nothing to bad. It was mostly wind and those damned road grooves haha

might need a tire rebalance, high wind just pushes me around a little doesn't make it shaky, shake is no different at 65 or 120+
shake is almost always tire related

For me I don’t feel it until over 70 ish. I am gonna take highways back instead of interstate to avoid any harder wear and tear on stuff.

Tire balance…. What exactly is that.

Would you notice that on the tire wear? My tires seem to be wearing down pretty even. No random bald spots.

tire balancing is done on a machine, it''s nothing you could detect by eye.
it is done when you have new tires installed and never again unless requested or if you had a tire patch or something done.
the machine spins the wheel and electronically weighs the tire/wheel, weights are added as needed to make it spin without wobble
sometimes the weights are just applied with a double sided tape inside the back of the wheel, mine fall off from time to time. other types of weight are attached to the edge of the wheel with pliers/ typically weights are made of lead. just like fishing weights but these are rectangular

Terrible ride back. I couldn’t tell if it was the car. It was blowing 40mph wind gusts and there were these lines etched in the road on the interstate that made me swerve and like they would pull me all over the road. Felt like I was on one of those little horses with the giant spring at the park. That’s how windy it was.

Have you checked to see if the dust shields are coming into contact with the rotors?
No. How can i do that? Also I have taken two road trips and it hasn’t really gotten better or worse. So it must be nothing major.

This video isn't a Tahoe yet the dust shield proximity to the rotor and solution may be of benefit. Key points at :50 and 2:50.
