upper control arm brand ?

so, I find myself in need of rear shock and driver front upper control arm. at the shop, we just use fcs brand and pronto brand for our customers cars. I was looking at rock auto. a ac Delco upper arm is 100 compared to auto zone at 275ish. duralast is 230. I want to use the good quality on my truck. witch option y'all recommend? is the ac Delco from rock auto good? RA also has Moog for like 55ish

Since you did not identify the vehicle you are talking about should we ASSUME you are talking about a 2007 Suburban? Or are you talking about an actual pickup truck? Are you talking about 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton?

Sorry to ask so many questions but good supplied info gets good answers and I absolutely hate ASSUMING.

Yes, the 07 suburban. that's my bad lol. it's a LS trim model, pretty basic

As a general rule, I recommend only genuine GM original parts when available. Then, there are no surprises on quality, fitment, etc.

If not available, then go with the following in this order:

ACDelco Original Equipment
ACDelco Gold (Professional)
ACDelco Silver (Advantage)

are approx $150 each on rockauto, which is likely to be the best price found anywhere
I cannot recommend using anything other than oem for control arms if you plan on keeping the vehicle and expect it to not have to have the same arms replaced again in a year or two.

you might be able to save $50 buying something else but.... don't realistically expect it to last 10 years, not gonna happen.
I am not a die hard oem fan, but some parts are best replaced with original equipment, control arms, fuel pumps, water pumps, internal engine parts.

delphi may be an exception, moog is a popular option but not the same quality, based on historical feedback.
it is well known or should be that GM takes bids or makes contracts on parts production from various manufacturers which i am sure must meet there tolerance specifications.
aftermarket parts do not, that's why they can offer the same part at lower cost

I MAY get a Delphi, Moog or Mevotec off rockauto just for now, then come December, spend 2 grand and get the good stuff and rebuild the whole front end properly since were closed for Christmas week and will have full access to the shop to take my time. I just need it back on the road for now

What do you want to do with it - are you just keeping it stock or looking for an upgrade?

If keeping stock ride height, and want improved strength\handling then the Mevotech boxed aluminum a-arms is the way to go. If you are looking to lower the truck, look at DJM suspension for the "good stuff". If going up you have a lot more options but Kryptonite makes some very high quality stuff.

My Moog failed right after the 1 year warranty but my mechanic warrantied it anyways. He's a good guy.
Bushings failed enough to see the movement (without trying hard) when brakes were applied in the driveway.
