I know I know many think U2 55s are played out and too common but I have always loved and wanted them since the very first time I saw them. Their simple elegant clean lines and huge lip / profile are very eye catching and classy IMO. I of course could never go just plain chrome or black so I had a potential project in mind. There is a SLIGHT chance I may sell the Forgiato's (of which would be EXTREMELY profitable which would be the only reason why) so I was thinking I could finally try out the 55s if so. What do you guys think of pearl white spokes and leave the big fat chrome lips? I've also seen them solid pearl white but I'm not sure I'm fond of that as it appears cheap on the pearl white / chrome Escalade scheme. Here are some quick photoshops, anybody happen to have any pics of paint matched U2s for reference?

I would not drop Forgiatos for U2s. It's like leaving a wife for a ******. :imo:
I have always said that Escalades are too classy to have those type of wheels on them. U2s/Velocity's are more at home on Tahoes/Yukons, but even then, I am not a fan of them. Also, as my distributor friend once told me, those wheels are made or recycled metal. They bend so easily that it is not amusing. Most wheels shops in DFW will tell you the same.
Also, those Forgiatos are not as profitable as they look. First reason is because they are custom painted. That can be solved by refinishing them, but that just cost more money. Second, 26s are not very easy to sell because they are not seen as being daily oriented. I tell you that from experience because I have sold 3 of my older sets for L's despite paying near wholesale for them. Last, expensive quality wheels are harder to sell because most people either cannot justify the cost for them, or can't afford them.

well, I was gonna say go for it, and I do like it. Buuuuut, Modded makes a valid point. I think the escalade just hold a bit more "classier" look if you will. do what you want, we are all gonna like whatever you choose, but modded makes a money smart point.

I to agree with Modded and knew you would be one of the first to post as I've seen your comments on U2s before :) I have had 3 friends run 55s and none have had any issues with bends/cracks/peeling but I know people have had issues. The absolute ONLY way I would sell the Forgies and go the U2 route would be if I made a substantial gain on selling the Forgies. My thoughts were to just post them and see what bites I get and keep them until somebody offered a price that forced me to sell them. I couldn't loose either way, guess I'll just see how it pans out.

You can put them on CL and see what people offer in, bget ready because some people on CL are natural low ballers and do not realize that the quality of U2 wheels will not hold a candle to those Forgiatos.
Depending on my next vehicle, I may scoop a set of high quality 26" 3 piece wheels. But I refuse to go though 5 sets of wheels like I have done on my current one because reselling 26s is just frustrating. They sell good when new, but resell value is quite depressing. I use to feel like cussing some CL people out when they would hit me with the "I have $1400 now" for a 5 month old wheel/tire package with TPMS and lugs.

Both look great. If you've always wanted U2's and feel strongly about them you should do that IMO. What's to say you can't go back to your current setup in the future?

I'm no stranger to buying and selling wheels/tires/parts/anything custom and I refuse to take a loss. I am so cheap I won't buy anything without knowing I can resell to atleast break even or make a profit. My thoughts are to post on Craigslist as Dallas Craigslist gets pretty good exposure but I would mainly market them on eBay with the intent to gain interest and possibly settle locally outside eBay

Because I'll NEVER get another deal like I got on these Forgiatos, that is the only reason I got them in the first place and why I could more than likely turn a high profit, which would fuel other mods :hmm:
