Two Tahoe Options - Advice Needed

So I'm looking at replacing my totaled Tahoe. I've found two that I really like and I need some feedback.

(1) - 2007 Tahoe 5.3 2x4 159,000 miles. Had a full DOD delete 100 miles ago as well as a new rear main seal. Vehicle is flawless condition. But since it had the DOD delete then I don't know much about the process involved with that (as in what was replaced and what's new).

(2) - 2009 Tahoe 5.3 4x4 158,000 miles. Great condition with no known issues.

Both vehicles are the exact same price. So any advice would be appreciated.

are you sure you have those years correct? should have been no reason for a dod delete on a 2007, was the engine replaced?

Yeah the 07 is the same model and 5.3 engine as my wrecked 07 Tahoe and both have AFM system.

would the 09 have the 6 speed and the 07 the 4.speed?

seems like the 6 speed is a nice upgrade.

you'll need to do that afm delete on it yourself, but the upside is you'll know what parts were used. seems if the delete kit is a ebay or Amazon, it's China stuff and tend to fail too.

I would go for the 09, mainly for the 6 speed trans.

I can't fault this. I would suspect looking at a suburban or lx thou, they were big for their time, but not by today's standard.

I go with the two wheel drive if 4x4 is not actually needed. If it's not a rust bucket at this point you must be down south somewhere.

09 with the 6 speed all day. The fact that the 07 had its AFM removed 100k ago and still running strong is testament to doing the same to the 09 in time.

The 07 is essentially an 01-06 trans in an 07-14 truck. They’re stout as you’re aware, coming from an 07 yourself.

Drive both and see whatcha think. Don’t count out standard wheelbase Denali & Esky. In 09 2WD was a thing them and none of the 07-09 have AFM on their 6.2L
