So, I was bored this weekend and tried to reset my TPMS system since the tires were rotated. BTW, I had them rotated at the dealer and they didn't do it, kind of pisses me off.

Anyway, the first tire went fine, then the second one would recognize to get the horn chirp. I didn't know what to do, so I kept going. When I got done, obviously it wasn't right. I tried to repeat the procedure, then it wouldn't even recognize the first tire and now I have a Service TPMS code. Nice.

Dealer, here I come.

I would've expected the dealership to reset them too... perhaps one or some of the sensors are faulty?

Mine had the service TPMS message but it went away after a few minutes and allowed me to do the procedure again. Keep trying before you take it and good luck!

Turn the engine on to keep the battery charging.

Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the key remote for 5 seconds, you'll hear the horn chirp twice and the DIC will say something about the procedure.

Go in this order and add/subtract air from the tire. The horn will chirp once to let you know when to stop letting air in/out.

  1. Front left
  2. Front right
  3. Rear right
  4. Rear left

After the rear left has been done, the horn will chirp twice, and you're done.

It's a different procedure for the Denali. It's in your owners manual. I'm under warranty, so i will fight them to do it for free.

They were all reading properly before the attempted reset, so I don't think I have a faulty sensor. But if I do, they need to replace it.

now this set up you have to add ar or take out to do it???? im wondering this because sometimes on my 26s the display reads all the pressure in all tires so the light dont come on and sometimes it dont and the light comes on... does this mean i have to reset mine..

Added 4 new tires/rims with new TPMS few weeks ago, but just got the "service TPMS message" showed last night.

Will try this procedure tonight... :)
