Towing Side Mirrors

I just inherited a 22' tow trailer camper. I'd like to get some towing mirrors that have all the built in goodies. I'd like the heated mirrors, autodimming glass (if necessary, I can live without this), puddle lamps, and power mirrors. I suppose I can live with manually extending the mirrors.

The only thing I've been able to find that comes close is this. Has anyone found mirrors like I'm looking for?

I just put some on my 01 Tahoe. Got them off eBay for like $170. Has everything but the single, I this that was like an extra $40. Took like 5 minutes to install them. I love 'em!

hey jim, i was looking to do the same thing. cheapest i found them was on ebay for like 150-170 bucks. and i think he meant signal. like the turn signal arrow on them. just a guess. goodluck and post pictures so we can see what they look like on ur tahoe.

Now that looks amazing! Will the built in turn signal work on my 2002 Tahoe LT that doesn't have the sideview-mirror-turnsignal now? Also, I found a post here (post #132) that shows a guy had wired in his own puddle lights. This would be perfect!

Looking at the link above says that it won't fit the 2002 Tahoe. Now I'm confused. I'd really love to have the turn signal in the glass, but how difficult is it to "wire in"? Is the turn signal wire already in the harness that the current side mirror plugs into? Or would I be wiring back under the dash? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to get this right the first time. Thanks!

EDIT: As I said above, Amazon says this won't fit my '02 Tahoe. Is that just because of the wiring harness? If so, you'd think it'd be possible to rewire the harness. But again, this all depends on if the turn signal wires are in the door side of the harness.

Sorry, I meant signal. It wasn't worth the aggravation of running the wire. Especially when these are plug and play.

it says to buy: : 62073-74G which are the non powered version so fthe 62075-76G, which i installed. Does your Tahoe have power features currently?

Yeah, I think running the signal wire is too much. However, the puddle lamp modification looks awesome. I think I'll go with the power/heated tow mirrors and then mod them for the LED lamps that I linked to above. Thanks for all your help, guys! When I get them in (hopefully, before Christmas) I'll post some pix.

Received my tow mirrors from 1A-Auto yesterday. I was dying to put them in, but if you lived in IL, then you'd know that we had a monsoon. So I put it off until tonight. When the temp dropped from 61 to 22 with a wind chill of 5. Haha!

I hung the mirrors and they look amazing! They do have the slight upward tilt that others have mentioned, but I don't think I'll notice or care when I'm driving. I'll have to see what they're like at highway speeds. I've heard others say they can shake in the wind. I snugged them down pretty well, so I'm hoping they don't.

I also ordered some LEDs to drill and glue to the under side of the mirrors so I don't lose my puddle lamps. That will have to be a project for another day. I want to be sure the mirrors defrost as they should.

Along with the LEDs for the mirrors, I also ordered replacement LEDs for the interior lights from superbrightleds.com. I had to drill out the door courtesy lens a bit but they fit wonderfully. Everything is so much brighter now! The glovebox lamp was a bear to get out. I had to take the whole light/ spring assembly out and trim it down with a knife and pliers. But it now fits a big 5 SMD LED and there is ample light.

I'll let you all know how the mirrors work out over the coming weeks. Then when it gets a little warmer, I'll mount the puddle LEDs. Thanks for all the advice!
