Towing Mirror Installation

I have a 2003 yukon xl, that i would really like towing mirrors on...

at a high level how does someone remove the mirrors, i haven't looked at it.. (i am at work, thinking i'd like new mirrors)

pop the triangle piece off in the corner of the door then unbolt the old mirrors and disconnect the wires at the plug connection then install new ones

Seems easy enough... sounds like a good idea, so i can see around my stinking travel trailer.

We had to remove our door panel to do ours. The harness is under the window switch. Unplug from there and then the wires themselves are held in by plastic clips down through the door.

Hope the mirrors u got have long enough bolts cause i had one hell of a problem getting mine on due to the bolts and the anti vibration brackets they gave me barely enough thread to start the nuts but i managed and they look and work good

I dont know if you have heated mirrors stock, but they make the Towing mirrors like that with heat in them for just a bit more $$$. They are on my wish list.

if you read the description it supports the heated function (or am i missing something?) :

Driver and passenger side mirrors are included in the set. Heated and power adjustable, OE-comparable wiring harness (no "pigtail" connector) for hassle-free installation. Can fold mirror to park in narrow garages. Black grained textured finish. Mirror is equipped with an additional blind spot mirror.1. Power, heating and turn signal functions will only work w/vehicles that originally came with these features. 2. Mirror has power adjusting glass, but does have power extendable or power foldaway features. 3. If vehicle is equipped with curb assist this feature must be turned off from the DIC (driver information center). The DIC is accessed by pressing the “i” button on the steering wheel. Scroll the menu to “Curb View” setting and set them to OFF. This will keep mirrors from moving out of adjustment. 4. 2007 models must be Silverado/Sierra Classic Extendable towing mirror, with turn signal, dual glass top (flat), bottom (convex).

I have a 2004 chevy 1500 with power mirrors and they are non heated. I heard you can put the tow mirrors that come with the heated function on them and just leave the heat plug undone. Is this true or is there a place I can get the square bulky looking tow mirrors with just power and manual folding

I like the factory tow mirrors, but think they are just to big.

**** has these, smaller and more round. Don't stick out like a sore thumb. These would look better on a Yukon XL or Suburban.
