spreader, they might rent them at autozone not sure, but a crow bar or a crow bar type tool should work, I rebuilt the whole front end of my wife's 04 with a crow bar and hand tools after she rear ended someone.
hence I can tell you the tow hooks on the nbs's are garbage they bend really easy, this design is much better.

all I saw was silverado video's our rigs are different, but I changed mine without taking off the whole bumper also, if he has to get in there and bend it open he might have to take the bumper cover off to get room to do it.

C'mon now, I used mine to get out of this predicament and they didn't bend.
When they started the pull the rear dropped off, we were standing on the tubular steps trying to counterbalance it, water right up to the window, exhaust going blub blub blub. My friend ask the tow truck driver if he ever lost one, after a couple seconds he says "this one is close", damn truck was less that 30 days old...lol
what year is that? and how did they attach to a front tow hook to pull it out when the cab is facing in the water?

02, they had to use two different ****** blocks to get the right angle because the first 2 tow trucks got stuck trying to get back there, then they brought a big ass one to get those 2 out and used it's cable. Crazy day where the frozen top few inchss thawed and was greasy as shit, as soon as my friend stepped out he went flat on his back, covered in mud...lol Man, what a day that was, old lady calling wanting to know what was taking so long, "you put the brand new truck in a pond !"....lol

After a trip to home depot to grab a heavy crowbar and some leverage it bent like buttttter.
