Ok guys, I've bowed to the pressure and I'm starting my build thread. I'm going to try to remember them in order, but it's been an ongoing process, so I'm a little foggy. I started with a bone stock 03 Tahoe, with 212,000 miles. Did duty as a real estate shuttle vehicle, so I'd have to assume all required maintenance was performed as I didn't receive any maintenance records. Came with the 4.8, 4wd and as a nice bonus the 3.73 rear. All the usual options, no onstar, Bose or moon roof, which is perfectly fine with me.
On to the mods.
Very first mod I did was to replace my front bumper, my original had a big dent in the center. Replaced it with a good used one. 2nd mod was to plastidip my stock Tahoe rims. Had the usual clear coat issues.

I figured I might as well do my belt mouldings, as they looked a little faded and I hated the fake plastic chrome. I also dipped the stock chrome grill, as it had seen better days.

I then removed the lower plastic plates that blocked some vent openings. Get some more air flow in there. Can't hurt, right?

I left it alone for awhile. Saw these on cl, and they looked much nicer then the stock lights, which I think are super ugly--no offense to those who like them.

So much nicer.
Threw these bulbs in there for the brake lights. Don't know what they are, got them for free.

I think they look much better then the stock bulbs. I tried leds, but weren't bright at all, really hard to see behind the red lenses.

Yeah, I figured I might as well do it. I lost a lot of my original pics, so I'm just gonna use what I have. :D

I always liked the look of the hids. I grabbed a set and put them in. Install was super easy, but didn't make sense.

Usually the tabs-plugs-only go one way. Not these. I plugged them in and they didn't work. Once Redrocket pointed out that I should turn the plugs around, they worked like a charm. Thx Red.

Forgot how many k's they were. Had the blue tint to them. They we're the 35 Watt ballasts.

After all this and reading the ty forums, I started to get the mod bug! Thx guys:waytogo:.
I really liked the rear Escalade appliques. Hard to find in my neck of the woods, and at the time no one was selling a set on the forums. Saw an ad on cl for a set. Score! Guy was parting out an Escalade and was selling a set for $100. Only thing was I had to drive 2 hrs one way to pick them up. No biggie. Came home with these. This was after the color match, which I bartered some other work for. Came out great. Perfect match.

I scored these stock Denali 17's for a song from my buddy.

As usual they have the usual GM clear coat issues. Plastidip is my friend!

That wheel well gap looks terrible. More on that later.
I also grabbed a set of Bose A pillars in my gray interior color. No pics on those. I'm thinking of doing something with them at a later date.

Next was the sound system. Stock radio was ok, but I was looking for something more. This is my Pioneer dd install. Love it. DVD, Bluetooth, all the goodies except for nav, which I don't really need.

It's the 7". I also did the homemade parking brake bypass. Just wired in a toggle switch from the ground to the parking brake wire, which is green in my application.

I then swapped some kicker 6.5's in all 4 doors. I don't remember the model number tho. Sound is much cleaner. I'm not an audiophile, but I do like my music. I then wired my JL Audio mono amp to a Pioneer 12" single sub in a ported box. Now it thumps pretty good, and clarity, for me, is spot on.
