Beyotch tried to bite me today--my own fault tho.View attachment 467914View attachment 467915
It WAS straight when I backed into the driveway to do the rear brakes. I was jacking up the passenger side--I already had the wheel off with some blocks underneath. Blocks were a little cocked when I let the jack down, so I wanted to adjust them some. I moved the jack under the pumpkin and started jacking, got higher and the jack twisted then it fell off the jack and the ***** fell to the right. I was lucky today.

Duuuuude. SO glad that didn't turn out badly. Glad you could laugh it off but please don't do that again. And thanks for sharing because I'm just the kinda guy to do stuff like that, even though I know better. Sometimes my laziness overtakes my self-preservation instinct. Next time that happens, this will float into my mind and keep me from making a painful (or fatal) mistake.

@Tonyrodz

Close man. Keeps us all on our toes jacking up the heavy trucks and how quickly it can happen even if you have done it dozens of times before. Be safe out there boys.
This is exactly why I posted this. I wanted to show what could've happened. I don't want anyone to get hurt--or worse--God forbid. I'm hoping my stupidity will be an eye opener to someone else. Can't slack or cut corners when it comes to--not only for your safety and well being, but also for your family's well being too.
This PSA was brought to you by the letter S.

I've been having this issue probably going on 2 years--or maybe a little longer. The Tahoe sits for long periods of time now, and it's slowly starting to look like crap from neglect--Anyway....
I'm hoping Nick from @NickTransmissions can help me out with some of his vast knowledge---
Sometimes when I'm driving normally around town I'd be driving and the car will act like someone reaches over and throws it into neutral. Doesn't happen a whole lot, but it does happen. Sometimes I'll slow down some then it's fine. Sometimes when I'm on the highway if I floor it, it'll also act like it's in neutral. O have to take my foot off the gas, slow down some then it's fine. Next time if I floor it, it's fine and takes off great. I could spin the tires from a stop most times--sometimes it acts like it's in neutral. Fluid is pink/red. I haven't changed the filter in a few years, but i don't drive it much anymore. Fluid level is good, doesn't smell burned at all. It has some small upgrades such as a vette servo, few small internal upgrades for longevity, a shift kit and a 3000 stall Circle D converter. Trans was rebuilt maybe 6-7 years ago, but again I don't drive it much, so not a whole lot of miles on the build.
Something similar was happening in my 05 Express with the 4l80. Trans guy swapped out the solenoids and internal harness and it was great after that, so I was hoping it's a similar situation.
This is my 03 Tahoe with the 4l60 in it. Does have a cam and tune along with a 6.0.
Also--how would I know the difference in the solenoids? I bought some GM new ones but haven't installed them yet. Is there a difference between the 1-2 or 3-4 solenoids? Will there be an issue if I put a 1-2 solenoid into the 3-4 solenoid location?
Thanks for any help provided. This has been driving me nuts since it started.

Solenoids are swappable. And Tech2Win can test them.
Yes I was told that. But can they interchange? I bought 2 and I don't want to install them in the wrong positions--if there's a #1 or #2 position---say i put the #1 solenoid in the #2 position by mistake. I hope I'm wording what I'm trying to ask correctly. Are the solenoids interchangeable.
I'm also asking if these solenoids would/could cause my issue.

Shift solenoids A&B are identical so you can swap them between the 1-2 and 2-3 shift valve positions on the valve body. When you drop the pan, you'll have a much better idea as to whether solenoids will resolve the problems or not.

I'm hoping it'll solve my issue. Think it could be something else? Do you know of a good video to show how it's done? This'll be my 1st time doing anything transmission related--other then changing the filter. Thanks for the help.

Worn band/3-4 clutch, gear train/shaft spines, valve body in that order of most likely to least likely. Another possibility is VSS but rare.

Reviewing your symptoms its not likely to be solenoid related, otherwise you wouldn’t have normal, sequential upshift or downshifting.

Swapping solenoids is an easy task. You just need a small flat blade screw driver to remove the retainer clips then swap them.

Then a 13mm socket and torque wrench for the pan. 100 inch lbs on those pan bolts.

If you see any signs of metal, cut the filter open to see if there’s a lot more captured inside of it.

Thanks. It'll be a couple weekends before I can get to it. I'm hoping it's the easiest, cheapest problem. I'll report back with my findings. Thanks again.
