Doing a lot of brake work lately swapping calipers, backing plates, shoes, rotors - mainly due to heat, salt corrosion and a piss-poor mechanic I once used.

Anyone have pads they swear by? Rear dual piston calipers to slow 13" cross-drilled rotors.

I just put the napa fleet pads all the way around with their ultra premium rotors on my 01 yukon. FWIW anything metal and exposed you should see about painting it. I see a lot of northern cars at the garage I work at and the deicer they use on the roads just brutalizes the underbody of pretty much everything

Yeah they really should just use sand on the roads and allow studded tires. Seems like they're always repairing or replacing the pot-hole riddled roads in the summer anyway. Even if you keep after the winter road-spray it still seems to eat your car alive. Both the rear backing plates were nearly gone, one was missing the entire shoe, hardware and even the brake lever key. Hopefully someone on here has a used one I can buy.
