Well its time for tires. For awhile I was gonna go with 295/75/16 but they're hard to come by and damn expensive. So now I'm trying to decide between 285's and 305's

My Yukon will have a 3" body lift, torsion bars cranked to level and possibly a 1" rear lift block. The wheels are 16x8 with 4.25 backspace and -6 offset.

My truck has the OE fender flares and Im going for a fairly agressive off road look.

So what do you say? 285's or 305's that are about an inch wider?

285 is plenty wide and will give you a good aggressive look
305 is just gona give you that much less gas mileage and (not sure where you are from) terrible road snow traction

Pics would be great if you have either set up!

I know both sizes will fit, just looking for the best look. Performance wise, there probably isn't a whole lot of difference. Snow traction doesn't matter cause I live in East Texas.

The 285's that I have my eye on are definitely cheaper than the 305's. They're also taller and thinner. 33.1" diameter by 11.5" width. Most of the 305's I'm looking at are 32.8" diameter by 12.2" width. Is the extra 7/10 of an inch worth it?

I am just curious if the 285's will stick out past my fender flares any, or if they're too skinny. Most of the trucks (like Bowtiefreaks) have their tires sticking out just a little bit past the fender flare, and I like that look, in moderation.

Thanks for the pictures Kevin. I like the stance of your truck. Are your torsion bars cranked at all?

What brand of wheels and tires are those? I am curious about the backspacing of your wheels.

Thanks again!

Thanks Tripper, do your tires stick out past the fender flares? It looks like they do in the front just a bit but I am not sure.

Your truck looks great! do you know the backspacing on your rims by chance?

My torsion bars I would say are about a little less then half way up. The tires are Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor LT305/70/16 and the rims are Ultra brand. Unknown what kind.

Thanks, I fell in love with it at first sight....

The front is almost even with the flare(the tread is even the sidewall just outside)....rear just inside the flare.
I do not have the specs on the rims as they were on the truck when i got it.
