2004 Tahoe. Wife started the Tahoe today and we are getting a really strange ticking sound under the controls. Almost sounds like the blinkers and wiper blades together. Then after a couple miles driving it stops. Anyone have any ideas?

kinda sounds like a broken blend door actuator. the gears teeth break off and start clicking, or the motor can also twitch back and forth.
Does sound like actuator problem. I agree with @Scottydoggs

I concur with the previous suggestions of it being a blender door actuator. Have had to change out a few of these for that same reason.
