I changed out my 6l80 transmission with a brand new one from GM, when I installed my supercharger. This new one is supposed to fix the historical problems associated with that 6-speed transmission. We will find out .
I have an '07 Yukon XL Denali that has over 160,000 miles on it now, and I just completed a 450 mile trip today with it, without issues.
Preventative changes to avoid breakdowns include new shocks/struts all around, new front wheel bearings, new upper and lower control arms and ball joints in the front, new brakes and rotors all around, performance sway bars, new front differential mounts, new (H3) motor mounts, new lifters and push rods, new cam, and a new compressor for the Z55 suspension .
We'll see if this gets me to the next 50,000 plus miles with this truck. I am confident that it will.
