Found what I think is a good deal for my area and am looking for some advice/

A 2013 Suburban Z71 89K miles. $27,000 at a Chevrolet dealer

I have not looked at the vehicle yet. Its about 2hrs away. Wanted to get some ideas before driving that far.

Currently have an 05 GMC Denali with over 215k miles. 6.0 l AWD. I bought this in 2010 with 75K miles on it. Starting to get rust on the rocker panels under the passenger doors. In the last year or so put brakes & rotors, new tires, power steering pump, steering gear box. I elimited the air ride at around 150k miles. No transmission work done other then fluid changes. Engine has not been rebuild.
Its starting to look a little rough on the inside, seats are cracking, floor is dirty, cd player stopped working.

This popped up and am considering it. A few concerns and questions I have, going from the 6.0 to 5.3 how much will I notice/regret it. I dont do any towing at all.
Its spent its life in Ohio and Michigan, so SALT, SALT and more SALT.
2 owner car with only records for the first owner. No accidents reported and no major repairs.
Its black. I was looking for a white one.

Seems a little high-priced for a vehicle with 89,000 miles on it. To me, $25k-$26k seems a little more reasonable.
The grille guard is completely ridiculous.
My '08 Burb has lived its entire life in IN and MI, and shows no signs of anything but surface rust on the undercarriage. No rust on the body yet. I wouldn't worry about it.
The 3.08 axle is going to make it feel a little more doggy. The 5.3 is not as sprightly as the 6.0 to begin with.
While people claim the AFM issues were fixed around '10 or '11 with the redesigned valve cover, I'm not convinced. With that mileage, the engine is either a) ready to crap out, or b) probably not a problem AFM engine. The $64,000 question is which is it? A or B? Damned if I know how to tell the difference.

Decent vehicle, but why not wait for something that is closer to what you really want? '10-'11 GMC Denali in white. It's got the 6.2L with power to spare.

I was in a similar quandary when looking Suburbans last year. I was looking at used and decided that spending close to $30k on a used Suburban with 90k miles was not a good value when I could purchase an LS new for $46k and have a full warranty. And, as I have stated in other threads, the new LS Suburbans are much nicer than the 08 1LT Suburban that I had purchased new.

The other thing to consider is that the the Suburban you are considering has lived in salt bath all its life.

As far as the motor, I have been happy with the 5.3. Also, my fire department has three Suburbans which are set up as command vehicles (with the 5.3), and so far no problems. And, unlike civilian Suburbans, they spend most of their time idling on scenes for hours at a time.

If you can get it for $2-3K less and you're happy then buy it. How does the price compare to others right now?

When I bought mine in May, it was $5K under the average of all the others I was considering and 700 miles from home. It was $10K less than that with more options, an extra years worth of mileage and four years older. I think you can still get a GM warranty on that one though if such is important to you.

Try Autotrader.com. It's how I found my last three used vehicles ($20k+ each, in the last two years).

Found my Burb at a VW dealer in Ft Wayne, Denali at a small used car dealer in Lake Orion, the '10 Wrangler at a Chrysler dealer in Clarkston.

I was willing to travel to Texas, if necessary, for my Suburban.
