Thinking About Upgrading

Been outta the loop for a while on the new Tahoes but do they still offer a 4 speed with the 5.3 and if so what are your opinions on that combination?

I believe that as of '10 all of the NNBS rigs come equipped with the 6 speed. With that said, My 07 has a 4 speed with the 5.3 and I like it.

I think it is 2009, because my 2009 Suburban definitely has a 5.3 with a Six Speed Transmission.

The 07-09 models have the 4 speed. 2010 and up are six. I have a four and like it.

It seems that most people arent real impressed with the 6spd. Just from what I gather it hunts for gears ALOT. And looking at the DIC on a friend's Tahoe it gets the same mileage as my 07 with the 4 spd so it doesnt seem to be worth it.

I know I've driven my dads '10 silvy and I don't really like the 6 speed. Grante his is completely stock so a tune may make it better but definitely like my 4 speed better when comparing stock vs stock. I'll be getting a bb tune in the near future so I'm sure I'll love it even more then.

I have a 6 speed in my 07 Denali and its nothing special. It use to slam into gear when I slowed down then pressed the gas and like 07burb said, it does seem like it is looking for a gear at times. However, the BB tune seems to have cleaned up most of the hard shifts.
