Think this wheel tire combo will work.

I have a 99' 2 door. I cranked the t-bars today and from ground to fender I'm at 37" in the front and 36" in the rear. I still can crank a bit more if needed. I plan to run a 20x8.5 wheel with 5.5" bs and small 33" tire like the 33x12.5x20 kumho mt (I think they run a littler smaller). I also plan on trimming the front valance under the bumper.

Are my chances good of making this work?

Thank you,

Jake

Ok why do you think that? I'm just trying to learn before I buy tires.

It should work. I know you can fit a 33" on these trucks with just a minor torsion bar crank. The 20's you want are pretty close to the stock back space so I don't see a problem. Worst case scenario is you will have to do a bit of trimming on the valance, but you already planned that. Also, don't crank the bars as high as they go, it just puts added stresses on the steering components which causes them to wear out faster.

Looks like you will be ok, how wide of a 33? I ran a 33x12.5 on mine on the stock wheels with no lift

I think the Kumho MTs are 12.5".

Also the ride with the tortion bars cranked is alittle stiff right now, will longer shock help offset the rigid ride?

Longer shocks will most likely help the ride as long as the suspension still has travel. What I mean is make sure that you are not cranked to the droop stops. 33's with no lift will fit but will rub if you wheel the truck (I rub my 35's with 8" of lift)

I'm running 285-70-17 Firestone Dest. MT which are basically 32.5. I have my t bars cranked ( not all the way cuz that would be retarded) and a two inch block kit on the back. I had to take my airdam off and take a side grinder to the bumper so it wouldn't scrub.. But it looks good and is the best way to achieve that size tire in my opinion

I run 305/50/20's on my 8.5" wide factory wheels and my truck has nothing done to the suspension other than a slight crank in the front to level it out... everything works with zero rubbing.
