Posi unit exploded today. Punched it from a 30 roll and that was it. I got it home, pulled the cover off, and pieces were laying all over the bottom of the pumpkin. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Now I have a good excuse to tell the wifey I need to pick up an Eaton or Auburn unit and drop in a set of 4.30 or 4.56s.

sorry to hear it.

Any thoughts on a rear axle conversion to something a little less 'light duty'?

Would it be worth it putting a Furd 9 inch axle under there, I mean after making it fit with the disc brakes, bracketry and everything else. Things are bulletproof...

SUcks about the Hoe bro..Someday you'll get to changing everything out of the drivetrain to withstand the power...

Damn. That sucks. It seems as when you finally get one thing done, its a matter of time before anther thing goes bad before you get to really enjoy it.

lol. The limited slip unit in the rear end busted. I'm going to replace it with a stronger aftermarket unit, more likely an Eaton unit, and also replace the stock 3.73 gears with either 4.30 or 4.56. Here are a couple pics of the pieces I pulled from it lastnight:

Yea, your bad, man. You jinxed me, lol.
It was bound to happen. That stock unit wasn't going to hold much longer with that power under all this weight. I'll probably build a 9" later for it. AFR heads, larger cam, and probably meth is on the list.

I had to show my wife after I pulled the cover. She kept telling me I was crazy because I had a smile on my face when I was showing her and explaining what happened. Guess they'll never understand...Just something about being able to cause that kind of carnage...it sucks that it happened, but feels good knowing you have the power to make it happen AND have an excuse to give the wife when dropping some dough to build it stronger.
