I'm not sure what you mean by take it apart? Take the ends a part or what? They are clean and very tight to push together

Ya I mean pull out the Candi module, and try the old Nintendo trick blow in the slot and then put it back in, take the cable off and the obd connector then put it back together till it clicks, in the connection., Then try the self test feature

You don't need the Candi for the GMT800s and earlier.

That is what I thought I read. Makes it simple for me as long as I stick to 2006 and older.
