TBI to carb?

anyone have any exsperiance switching from tbi to carb?

i want to and im thinking the truck would get a few more ponys?

anyone have some info on this?

You need an intake, distributor, fuel regulator and you'll have to address the tranny issue. Honestly with those ****** TBI heads and tiny cam you aren't going to get what you put into it ... maybe if you were doing a whole top end swap it would be worth the effort.

yea just run a tbi kit... there is a bunch of parts for them to make them dump more fuel...

find a intake to work with some vortec heads, then do a cam, exhaust, fans, intake, ignition, custom chip to really get what you put in it, and youll be set.

If it were me i would just stick to FI. Its somuch more realiable than a carb and will get better mpgs.

Go carb forget MPG. Just buy that blower forsale and close this thread

Swap in a freakin 572 with blower and a Th400 and let the good times roll.

Well since live in Cali and we have awesome smog laws I wanted to do something that's easily reversible every 2 years...

if you get a Vortec complete, FI and all, computer, etc...you can swap back and forth. BUT, a stock Vortec motor swap, leaving it FI would still way out performace a TBI 350.
