That link is the Rough Country 3" lift.

My advice is get the 4" lift. Every 2-3" lift you find will all be similar to the Rough Country.

on there website it says that it requires an aftermarket driveshaft for the autotrac. why would i need the aftermarket drive shaft? i vary rarely have it in auto 4wheel and while i do a little off roading its not like im beating the crap out of it

I paid $1000 for the 6" kit but the only difference is the AAL.

A body lift really isnt a bad option for the cost and it does change the ride quality at all.

i just like the idea of a suspension vs body lift for some reason. im ok with 1k for the lift but im not ok with 2k with all the extras its saying i need. ie carbon driveshaft, swaybar links, rear swaybar kit (i have a rear sway bar already from when i swaped in the rearend form a 1500).

i wanna do it right but im seeing skyjacker kits for that price

all the 3inch kits do is drop the diff some and new upper control arms. the lower bj and tie rod angles are not fixed so thats why everyone says they are a waste of 500 bucks when you can tget the same results with a crank and upper bj flip

All 3" kits will be junk, will ruin your front end because they don't address a lot of issues.

You should send this guy a PM on FSC about a 4" RCX kit (or 6"):

I think you'd be surprised how much you can cut the price of a kit by dealing with someone. I got my RCX 6" for $896 shipped to my door.

thanks ill check it out.
like i said tho looking at the kits it says i need all this extra stuff. do i actually need a new upgraded driveshaft?

I believe it is because of the angle created - it will reach, but the new angle will create a terrible vibration at speed that ultimately leads to joint failure somewhere on the driveshaft. I'm not familiar with the autotrac setup but I believe that is what I've heard.

It's about drive shaft angles with a two joint drive shaft you can only max out your angle at around 12 degrees or you get bad vibrations and things start to wear out fast. A double cardan drive shaft increases the angle you can have but you have to make sure you pinion angle is inline with the drive shaft. at around a 7 degree difference between the driveshaft and pinion you will get a vibration requiring shims installed between your springs and spring perch. Or cut off your perch and weld new ones on. The reason you need longer swaybar links is the old ones are just not long enough to reach because of the lift. Then if there's a slip yoke you need a kit to replace that, so there's a lot involved in it. Your best bet for ease and quality not to mention latter head achs is to get a good complete kit.

a bolt on pinion shim is an easy alternative. also 7 degrees out is a good bit for a CV shaft, you typically wnat them with in 1-2*. Why would he need to eliminate the slip yoke? Very rarely is anyone doing that on these rigs. Hardcore wheelers do, but the other 95% do not. It's a great upgrade but not needed.

I don't know if you can get a cv shaft with a slip yoke. If you can and it won't be driven aggressively I'd save the money. Sorry about my grammar. I ment when you pinion angle reaches about 7 degrees it will have vibrations. I didn't mean to set it there. I'm horrible at communicating.
