I recently bought a yukon xl denali and need to replace the rear air shocks, since they are all so much I was wondering if anyone had a good pair to recommend. The ones on it appear factory which is crazy at 170,000 miles but have clearly burst at the bottom or worn through. The front have been replaced

I’ve replaced the rear air shocks over the past 2 years on both of our XL Denalis, along with the air compressor on one of them. Super easy job. Now that I’ve done it there’s no way I would go with an aftermarket setup. The factory system is superb and reliable. Rock Auto has new OEM shocks for $250 each, and the Dorman compressor is a quality part if you need one. You can get the part number for your factory shocks off the label on your existing shocks as there are minor variations in the ones listed on Rock Auto.

I hear ya but that's the price for an exceptional ride that you're giving up.
im having this same issue now. truck needs some love and i dont have an issue spending the money because this will most likely be my forever truck, but if im gonna be spending $1200+ for it i want the best possible. so should i go new z55 all around or bilsteins with new springs and spend the leftover cash on maybe a suspension rebuild and sway bars?

In my opinion, you cannot beat the ride of the Z55 suspension in good condition. Please note that other folks have other opinions, as well.

Check rockauto.com and gmpartsdirect.com for better prices. Depending upon your mileage, you may not need new springs.

Check rockauto.com and gmpartsdirect.com for better prices. Depending upon your mileage, you may not need new springs.
im at 140k but will probably change the springs regardless.

I replaced my entire suspension at 145k miles, as the previous owner had stripped out the Z55 suspension and replaced it with a cheap passive system. I made the decision to replace all 4 springs with new ones in this replacement. I could not find OEM springs for the front struts, so I used a compatible Moog springs for the front.

besides the usual control arms, ball joints, tie rods what else should be changed in the front and rear?

I'd go all GM OE and then ACDelco Gold/Professional and then Moog CK Series in that order if you find parts discontinued or not available.

Hey guys so in the end I went with the Strutmasters conversion kit. Luckily they are in the same state as me and I saved myself $80 for picking it up in person. I’m planning on doing this tomorrow since I have this weekend off. I was wondering if anyone on here has the torque specs for the front top bolts on the struts and also for the 2 bolts that go under the strut. Also I will need it for shock absorber nuts in the rear and the sway bar links as well. I tried Google but I can’t get a straight answer on this. I was hoping someone on here might know.
