I just looked on letgo. How about this one. Engine and trans sounds like a bit of you. Over 200k and some minor damage $3k

3/4Ton 4x4 with 8.1L engine and Allison Transmission, LT with Autoride Suspension. Great rig, just needs a little work. Transfer case leaks (pump Rub?), cracked windshield and the rear axle seals need replacing. Would post for double but realize it just needs a little work, if you have the time. Very clean inside and out (minor dent in front passenger fender (see picture). Good Tread, New HD Radiator in 2018, tow package, Bose Stereo. Has been a great driver and tow rig for me for 14 years.

Yea, I want a rig with at least a decent body on it and no major dents. This one had that. I am also not a fan of the 8.1 engine MPG, actually very bad MPG. I appreciate the heads up, I do, but I will look locally at the one tonight.

I did try to send a message back to the guy on the one you showed me but I was going to have to join facebook to message him and that is not gonna happen.

You can also use searchtempest for hard to find vehicles, it searches everything including Craigslist EBay etc in any part of the country you want to look in. It’s how I found my bagged and bodied 08 Silverado, I had to search the entire West coast and found it in the Bay Area.

Thanks @Rocket Man.

Actually I went to searchtempest and it shuffled me over to autotempest. There is one in Wa. that I contacted the owner about.

@PNW VietVet

The low-mileage 04 2500 on CL is close to me. I'd be happy to check it out for you. Just let me know.

I can also message someone on the FB group, too, to get info or contact information.

Not needed. Went to the place last night about the local 04. They want more money than I am willing to give. I am going to stay local with my searches.

One of the things I hate hearing from dealers is the phrase, "I can't sell it for that because I have too much money in the vehicle". It's not my problem what you have in the vehicle. It has to have a certain value to me for me to buy.

Absolutely. They wouldn't care if you said that to them!
I do work for them, so I know how greedy they are. I'd say 95% of them are assholes. Just my opinion tho.

While the outside of that 04 Suburban was ok, the interior was a little rough and it seemed to have leaks from every orifice it had. The diffs, axle seals, transfer case, trans, engine and oil cooler lines, the a/c was luke warm, corrosive stain at the bottom of water pump, lf brake hose seepage, p/s hoses....etc. It ran ok and shifted ok but was sluggish when accel hard and that is with 3.73 gears.

It looks like I would have had better luck with the other close one that had the rack on top, the winch and winch guard and the cabinet in the back. It was sold though and he still wanted too much for it after offering $1000 off with the removal of these items I just listed.

I was wanting this to tow a trailer. I think I am just going to look for a 2000 to 2006 Silverado with the Duramax engine. I have fond memories and history with that engine.

I looked for nearly 2 years before I found mine out in Colorado but it lived in the southwest for most of its life. No rust had 187k with the 8.1 but the gal had it serviced at the dealer every 6 months like clockwork. I paid $8600 if I remember correctly. They do come around but there’s a lot of worn out ones and some that think they are sitting on gold. Just be patient, it’ll come. Or you could just swap a duramax into the burb. :D Good luck man. I’ll keep an eye out as well.

Not sure how long it’s been since you looked for a Chevy pickup with a Duramax but if you think the 2500 Suburbans are overpriced, you haven’t seen anything yet. The Duramax trucks are like gold, and I swear they actually started appreciating a few years ago instead of depreciating. Good luck.
