Stock radio getting static on FM

I have a 99 Tahoe police cruiser, when i turn the radio on AM i get signal no problem but it only gets static if i switch to FM.... I'm at a loss of what to do any help would be appreciated.

Try swapping the antenna with another? Sometimes they seem to lose efficiency as they get older.

Here’s where someone had a similar issue with an S-10 Blazer that was equipped with a CB radio. I would bet that they used the same radio as the C/K trucks.

Not sure if your truck still has a CB installed, but it may be worth looking into...
