you likely had some hot spots on the old rotors. No wheel should require you to cut off the balance weights. perhaps on the off chance you might find a drum with a weight that is formed flatter but longer as needed to make things work. I would do the rear first since you need to and go from there.

Yeah, since I changed the front rotors there has been a huge improvement on the braking. Do you have any suggestions for the rear drums and pads?

i only use ones from makers like delco, raybesto or bendix for drums or rear brake shoes. The last refit used resurfaced raybesto drums and bendix r473 shoes, cylinders and hardware. I have a 4dr so I have 11" drum system.

Sunlit, what are your thoughts about the Summit Racing brand brake drums? They have a complete rebuild set with drums, pads and the inner components for a really good price almost too hard to pass up. From experience, I have found that the summit brand is mostly just a rebadged name brand. For instance, I bought a summit air filter and when it came in the mail, it was actually K&N filter. I'm not sure that would be the case with the drums tho. Just asking your thoughts...

I noticed the re-branding too. they did that on the SSBC rear disc conversion for Tahoe. I would feel comfortable with it if I can be assured about the quality and make/model of the parts. You have a link please?

Feels like driving a school bus...Any input?

I have had a lot of noise coming from the rear drums. They only make noise when they heat up. 15 min into driving and braking. I have replaced the shoes and it still screams. They said might emergency brake might be loose and rubbing on the drums..... They wanted 400 to fix the problem. No thanks, I can get a whole disc brake conversion for a few hundred more. Anyone have any input on the squeaking noises?

Will do. I live overseas so it takes a few weeks for shipping from the states. Sunlit, is it fairly easy to replace the rear brakes? I've never done it before...
