Ok when using 2 in. Spindles that require17in. Or bigger what spares are y'all using. I'm on 26s .would love 22in Chevy transit wheel but hard to get and costly. A cheap 18in. Steel wheel would work . I want 18in. Or bigger so I don't have to modify my spindles or balljoints . What are y'all using .

I can't find just a cheap steel 18" rim for nothing .plenty of 17"s. If I catch a flat on front ima have to take a wheel from rear put it on front and put spare on rear . Double work right .

Not sure if there is an 18" steelie. Get a standard 17" spare steel wheel or an alloy 18" if you insist on having an 18". I see 18" OEM take-offs (usually from 4WD) all the time on CL.

I would love to just use a 17" but then you have to grind down almost all threads on bottom balljoint then use a special nut that is barely 1/4" thick. Don't like that idea . I probably just get a 20in" stocker off craigslist or something .

In all honesty I was thinking about this and it only affects the front of you get a flat in the front just throw a rear tire up front and the spare on the rear

Thats a lot of work. What size spare do the newer trucks with stock 22s have?

Just like the Gmt900 brake upgrade. 17" minimum. If you get a flat, you gotta swap front and rear. It ain't that bad.

Yeah I get that. I have the gmt900 upgrade is the reason I ask. What do the trucks with 22s have for a spare? I know it's got to be a taller tire. Even my 20s are short compared to my 24s. What's a 17 gonna look like?
