I would like some opinions on how the ride quality is with Belltech, DJM, Eibach, Hotchkis, or Mcgaughys Coil Springs.
Thanks

which shocks did you have stock? Nivomat?
I replaced my springs with hotchkiss, works well with Nivomat.
If you replace the Nivomats then you need to replace the springs,
i dropped 3 inches and have a spongy ride. I am now in the process of getting springs to match up with the new Bilstiens.

IMHO, unless you did a head to head, even then I bet you wouldn't see much difference between coils.

The only one that I have read has a significant difference (according to Max here on TYF) is the Belltech 5305 coil. It's listed as a 2/4 coil, but he says they underestimate their drops and it's really a 5 coil.

Unlike the DJM and Mgaughys 5 coils, the 5305 is a progressive rate spring which means it will perform based on the weight or force on the spring. Without getting too technical it just means the more load, the stiffer the spring. So it has more comfort than the DJM/Mgaughys on small bumps. Again, it's listed as a 3' but according to Max it has a lower drop than reported by Belltech. He has a thread or two about this subject....

What I can tell you for cetain is you do NOT want any of the HD springs for any of the aftermarket manufacturers...they are stiffer than hell and have a horrible ride. So unless you tow a lot, do not get these for a daily driver.

Good luck

thanks for all the info, i just ordered 2" hotchkis coils and they come with new bump stops, a guy on FSC has em on his 2dr 2wd and he said they ride and handle great, he said he likes em better than his buddies eibach coils, and since hitchkis is discontinuing they're obs parts, i got em cheap...$75 not counting shipping

Hotchkis Garage... check ebay for the name. Basically, it's a Hotchkis store for discontinued/clearance merchandise. It's legit.

As stated above, there are several members on FSC that run Hotchkis springs... nothing wrong with 'em based on all that I've read. Very reputable company. I recently purchased a set of Eibach springs (something about buying a discontinued part bothers me, but that's a personal issue).
