Has anyone smoked their stock tail lights on their Denali? Thinking about doing that instead of buying new tail lights. Just wanted to see if anyone else had done it and the process.

Get some spray tint and clear. Rough lens up with 1000 wet sand, spray 2 layers of tint with 1000 wet sand afterwards, spray 4 layers of clear then wet sand 1000, 3000, 5000, compound wax, polish wax.

Yea I went and watched videos of how to do it but I wanted to see if anyone had actually done it on the factories. I don't know if it will look good or not.

I sprayed mine at first and they looked fine, but even with brighter bulbs, the lights were not very bright at all.

Went with some Spyder LED's with the smoked lenses and they are MUCH nicer.

Better looking, much brighter too...

My bulbs were about $50 a pair through VLeds. Very bright.
These are the professionally sprayed with tinted clear coat.

that makes all the difference in the world. tinted with a auto grade tint fallowed buy a auto grade clear will give you the same uv resistance as regular paint. as long as the surface was prepped correctly it will last a long time!

I'm on the fence now....was sold on Escalade tails, but after seeing those smoked I'm stuck again. Buddy owns a paint shop and does stuff like that all the time. Cheap for me to smoke tails and 3rd brake light, but man those Escalade tails are sweet too..
