I'm trying to understand this. So you got calipers for a 2021 Silverado and put them on your '15-'20 Tahoe or Silverado? And they're just OEM calipers? What about rotors and pads? Just any choice of 2021 rotors and pads? Am I reading this correctly that the only "mod" you did was to grind down the caliper a little, use washers to center the caliper, and wheel spacers? Other than that it was a direct bolt on process?

Really thinking about upgrading my wife's 2015 Tahoe with this. She has 22" wheels so I'm wondering if I'll even need to do any grinding on the calipers. She drives like she's an F1 racer and absolutely eats through brakes. She's gone through two sets of front brakes before I've gone through one on my 2010 Avalanche. But also don't really feel like getting into anything that will be a bunch of trial and error either. Just not up for that kind of stuff right now.

Not to take over this thread, but if you were going to do the upgrade, I would highly recommend reading this thread. It has all the info you want. Instead of the 4 piston, you'd be upgrading to the 6 pistons in the front and 4 piston in the rear.

Yeah, I read through that thread. I would love to do that upgrade, but cost is the limiting factor on that one for a 2015 with 233k miles on it. Honestly I'll probably just end up going with my normal powerstop replacements. Now that I think about it, not sure I want to give her any more reason to drive like a maniac. No exaggeration, she scares me when I ride with her. :laughing1:

Yep, that's all I did. I didn't even have to grind the calipers, just use the washers. I also went with stainless brake lines at the same time. The difference is night and day. Bang V. Buck, this is better than the 6 piston in my book. I'm less than $400 into my enstire swap. Rotors, pads, lines, and reman'd calipers (Rock Auto will also take your stock calipers as a core). You MIGHT need a set of wheel spacers, I got away without needing them, but it's defintely close.

Oh wow, that's awesome. That's where I am too as far as bang for the buck.

RockAuto didn't mind that you were sending back calipers for a different vehicle?

As long as it's just a small spacer that just slides in there I'll be ok. My son's 4runner has huge spacers on it and it's a royal pain in the ass to have to do anything that involves his brakes. Stripped out a hub stud last time I changed his brakes and had to have the shop fix it for me. Not fun $$$

Nope, they didn't care at all. I got the full core charge. As for rotors, I found some on ebay from a 2019+ truck (2021+ SUV) that were on a truck that got damaged on the trailer, so had 0 miles on them. Here's some pics from my build thread on it so you can see how close they are: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/2019-yukon-build.150506/#post-1915982

so I finally installed the 4-pots.
I needed 1/2" wheel spacers to get the wheel (22" snowflakes) to clear the calipers.
I used 2 washers for 1/8" to center the caliper.

hunting for other factory wheels that will clear the calipers..20s or 22s..
