I just removed both sides of front door and rear door letters "TAHOE" and I was wondering if anyone went ahead removed the side trim as well to create a smooth look? If so, does anyone have pictures that I can see so I can decide if I want to remove the side trim on the Tahoe. Thanks

Thank you for the reply. And did I mention that the “Wonder Wheel” is magical at removing the double sided tape?

I like the look of no door molding but it does expose you to door dings. I did it on my 2007 Silverado after they started to come off on their own and loved the clean look. Here is a picture I found of a black Tahoe with no molding.

I like the clean loook too. Many cars have them now and I’m debating as some front portions of the trim are starting to come off and I can see the glue/tape behind behind them.

Picture from last year, buy here's another picture with no moldings. Just be careful, when I removed mine, I found corrosion under it and it almost ate through the door. I had to have all 4 doors repaired/repainted.

This was when I first removed my strips.

I took them things off and haven't regretted it. :) Left the Tahoe word on there though, didn't have the heart. Did loose the GM badge in front of them. They were worn out and looked like chit anyways.

Ugh the stupid side moldings. I like the look of them, they break up the flatness of the door so they help hide small dents. But mine are pulling off and starting to look ratty. I don't think they'll stay down if I just retape them.

Do you have any pics of your truck?

:yaoface2:

Ok, I'll be the contrarian. I like them on, because if the truck has no moldings, it looks like a stripped-down fleet model LS. Very common on the 2500 trucks.

I'll take debadged, retaining the moldings.

Do you have a body lift your Tahoe or is that the standard height?

I am looking to put the Tahoe badge/letters onto my doors (no molding; was an SSV) but I can't find the exact location on the door to put the letters on. Anyone have a GM reference or measurement? May have to just go out and find someone's Tahoe and take measurements myself unless someone already knows.

Standard. I would mind 2 or 3 inches lower in the rear.
