Looking good! Well done on the overland build. More mods planned?
Have you used the onboard air compressor? What are you airing down to off trail?
Also - what's that running board you've got there? A little hard to tell, but it sure doesn't look like OE...

Yes, I have an ARB compressor mounted in the spare battery tray under the hood. Have an 8 gang aux beam switch near the headlight control on the dash to control light cubes, light bar, reverse lights and air. The brush guard is from Steelcraft. I will have to look back through emails to find who made the side steps. But I have had them on for a couple years and have been very pleased.

Also planning to change out my spacer leveling kit for the Cognito/Fox 3” lift/level kit. It uses new UCAs and Fox 2.0 coilovers and rear struts. Hope to have the suspension changes done in the next month or so

This is the link to the side steps. I had low expectations given the price but took a shot because I hated the plastic OE steps. I have had them on for 2 years now with no issues. Sturdy, no rust, no chips on coating and plenty strong for my use as this is obviously not a rock crawling rig.

Just had the Cognito 3” lift installed with Fox 2.0’s and man is it sweet. Ride quality is incredible. I regret not doing it sooner. I will upload some photos tomorrow when it is light out.

I had a 2” level installed before (spacers with stock struts). Not sure if my factory coilovers were just worn out and it had basically settled back to a stock height or what. Because I actually gained 2.5”-3” of lift compared to my stance with the spacers. I measured from ground level o top of wheel well through the center of the wheel. It sat at 38” high with the 2” spacers. Now after switching to the fox coilovers from Cognito it is measuring just under 41”.

The kit included Fox 2.0 rear struts as well. They do not provide any rear lift but I already had a ready lift 1” spacer under the rear springs from my previous leveling kit. It is slightly higher in the front than the rear but isn’t to “dog dragging its butt”. I have a decent amount of weight in the front so I’m hoping as the coilovers settle in it will be pretty even front to back.

@Rustylane7 - those could be a bit too tall with stock suspension. I was running 33" tires with a 2-3" ride height increase up front and clearing fine with that.
I'm just going to go for it. The z71 seems to sit higher than a regular hoe. I'll report back with pics.

Here is one more until I have time to take some decent photos and do a full write up haha.

How do they ride? I had Fox 2.0s on my 2011 F150 and they definitely stiffened the truck up but was satisfied overall. Im leaning toward the Billstein 6112s on the tahoe just to try something different. Or possibly the Dobinson kit.

Ride is great. Stiffened up some; eliminated nose dive when stopping, nose dive or lean when cornering etc. but still comfortable. Biggest improvement is the rebound after a big bump. On the stock suspension I would bounce up and down 3 or 4 times after a big bump before the suspension settled. Now you go over the bump and it immediately settles. So instead of feeling like 5 bumps it feels like 1 bump

I considered the 6112s but it seemed like you could only get 1” of lift out of them and they don’t recommend running a spacer on top. That is ultimately what pushed me to the 3” Cognito lift.. only other choice would have been a Cognito 3” lift with kings instead of the Fox 2.0s. The kings 2.5 probably feels more similar to the 6112s. But the kings were not in the budget at the moment

Job well done - great overland build going!
A couple suggestions that probably wouldn't hurt your budget too much AND benefit the rig/ride:
1) Are the rear shocks built for a 0-2" ride height increase? If so -> New Rear Coil Springs, providing approx 2" increased ride height. (example: Dobinsons https://dobinsons.com/gmc/gmc-53)
2) New HD tie rod sleeves (instantly feel better steering control, particularly low speeds, with larger wheels)
3) New Front Sway Bar Links (extended length to match up better to the ride height increase)

Do you have links to tie rod sleeves and sway bar links that would work for this build? I always have a hard time finding parts that work on lifted 15-20 tahoes

Does anyone in here have pictures and feedback on the Dobinson kit?

This has me wanting to step up to 295/70r18s now that I have a new 3” lift on. Currently running 275/70r18s. They fit well when I had a leveling kit but feel small now with the new lift.
