I have an idea that I really want to pull through with...
As always my really ****** MS paint example, BTW this is a 2 door LT tahoe with no rear seats (bench seat) -
currentidea.png

This involves/shows the following.

* Gutting out the back.
* Custom Cutting A thick piece of plexiglass to fit the tahoe, to cover the end top to bottom start from where the captain seats end.
*Creating some kind of insulation cushion for the plexiglass on the edges and then fixating it to the tahoe.
*RhinoLining the Plexi glass both sides all over
* Rhinolining the entire back of the vehicle as if it was a truck bed (from the plexiglass back)
*Laying down black carpet in the front cab.
*Redoing everything in the front cab, Leather/Carpet/Dashboard/CenterConsole/etc...

Is this Feasable / POSSIBLE?!

And if I was to do this where could I think of putting 1 12" sub maybe in a custom made center console?

I've just always wanted to do this.. =D!
You don't like the idea?
Well the reasons why.
*Cooling the entire truck is not needed (don't need to cool off equipment/delivery stuff)
*The A/C sucks and the cab would be much smaller
*This way I don't have to redo the whole truck just the cab I'll be sectioning the rest I can gut and rhino line it and not worry bout' it.

sounds like you should have bought a short bed standard cab OBS. hahaha. i dunno, still don't see why it would be worth it. especially since your truck looks really good from the outside, interior can't be that bad.

now if you did it and cut out the back windows/roof, it would be interesting. hahaha

guess its not my style. don't think you could talk me into doing it to mine, and my interior is getting thrashed hauling all the lumber/trim/etc for the house remodel.

It's definitely a possibility and can even be done in one weekend (minus the cab makeover), but why plexi if you're going to rhinoline both sides? Acrylic sheets like lexan and plexi can get expensive, especially a sheet that large and thick.

Haha yeah... The goal is to make the front a cab and the rear like a bed seperate from the cab just by putting in some kinda seperater whether it be plexiglass or plastic or whatever I'm not sure...

JKmotorsports, you almost seem to know your way with doing something like this. More info on how i'd insulate it if you could tell me, or another material or way I could go about doing it if it seems to exspensive.

For teh seperator I would use real glass or its going to be unplesantly loud on the freeway, and very hard to cool or heat with no insolation value. Remember metel is a conductor, glass is an insolator.

its a Remington 11-87, and the suppressor on it is legit, however it doesnt work as well as the movie makes it out to. But hey its hollywood and is was awesome anyways.

i like the idea but i would leave some space behind the seats, you know in case you have a need to keep things hidden.

i also saw that you have a system coming along, maybe you can use that space for the subs.

I would think that you are going to need a think peice of acrylc to be able to hold up the weight of the rhino lining, asuming it is heavy. Personally haven't had any experience with it.

I have a guy who built me a custom acrylic saltwater fish tank. You can e-mail him for a price quote on a peice of acrylic to see how expensive it is. Works with 3/8 and 1/2 inch acrylic, but I am sure he can get other sizes also.

Hummm lots to think about thanks guys. I thought about it and well its going to be a pain in the ass haha. So right now I'm just gonna redo the interior and do everything except the Acrylic seperator idea. Expect pictures within 2 weeks.

... I don't think everyone really gets what I was going for.. I wanted to put barrier between the drivers seat / passanger seat and the rear of the truck is all nothing more. Think police car barrier front/rear. The complexity for something so simple is way to much for me right now. I'm just redoing the truck now when I'm done I'll show you what I've done. Workin hard at the concrete yard to get some cash.

Just an idea but why not weld in a back part of a pickup for the bottom part and then make some kind of like take out rear window that they have out now or use the plexi for that. it would be smaller area so you would use less plexi...

I personally think you have way too much going on as it is with your tahoe and this would be extremely unnecessary.
