has anyone ever installed an electric fan in front of the standard fan? attaching it to the radiator using a fan mounting kit and wiring it thru a relay to turn on when the compressor kits on???

actually, gm did offer one...look in heavy duty trucks like a 3500, or a diesel...or buy it new...it is certainly cheap enough. holes are already there...I did one a long time ago and used it when the ac came on.

auxilary fan, condensor

it was used on the heavy frame trucks withe big block or diesel engines to provide increased cooling while not letting the radiator heat to much from heat coming from condenser. partial provisions were made but were not complete in the Tahoe iirc. it was designed to be relay controlled and fused in the under-hood power box. the relay was triggered by a refrigerant temperature switch on the condenser tubing. you can install the oem aux fan and use the +feed to compressor clutch to trigger a relayed circuit of your choosing. you can get the gm part here. http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-15-8686-Auxiliary-Radiator-Motor/dp/B0012PM154/

you might find afterwards that extra electrical power may be needed. it will be required if you have efans on radiator already in place of oem clutch fan system.

you will most likely need to make your own harness system like i mentioned as the provisioning for the system was not completely included in the Tahoe build up.

and was even optioned on the small block too as last ditch effort for engine coolant circuit it looks like. triggered by a coolant switch and relay. the switch was installed on right bank. opposite of the left bank where the sensor over there fed the gauges. The aux trigger switch on right bank is gm 12554958. no details on what the right back switch triggers at.

what about just running it to a switch? For the price of that oem fan i really want to do that to, but i think it would be cool to have it on a switch, does anyone know how much power that fan draws?

So i was looking at a 3500 today and saw this...

So does the aux fan necessarily have to be on the passengers side..? Bcuz my LIMITED has the oil cooler on the passenges side and i dont wanna go through the hassle of moving everything over...
So again does the aux fan need to be on the passengers side? Or does it not matter..?

O another thing... I traced the wires all the way back near the fuse box and lost it in a cluster coitus of wires in the main harness... I was looking for the relay and trigger for this fan but got nothing... Sunlit i tried saving ur diagram but i shows 1 image and downloads as another... Any chance u can send it 2 me..? Please please please..?
